Now that was a fast response!

I had seen that site before but didn't know it was the same. Information looks kind of confusing there...

Thanks

I've got a question about the t28 datacabel.
Is it so that al datacabel which are not original SE datacabel are able te flash the phone with this software. I'm asking because i'm using a rs-232 datacable to send files to my t610 which is defently not a original SE datacable. Now i'm wondering if i can use this cable or must i buy a spec. cable calls "t28 seriel/com chinese"

Has anyone had this problem??
with phone off connected to serial.. start to flash and screen prompts to press ON button.. so i did, very briefly making sure the phone doesnt go on... but after about 3 to 5 seconds the phoen turns on anyway..and takes a while to load up too.. and the flash software just wont recognize my phone...

i m pretty sure my cables right...serial end says RTM60102 (as someones already mentioned).. phone end says T28/T28Sc

tried on XP and ME... and cable unplugged into PC.. same thing happens.. going to try with a win95 laptop tomorrow..

My problem is that the screen displays "Press ON on the phone now !!". I give a short press on the power button as instructed, then nothing. Some previous posts have mentioned that the flashing takes some time to complete, but how long is it before the first signs of life (on-screen messages) appear? I've left it for a minute or two before giving up and unplugging the cable. Is this long enough?

Simon

You should see it say that it has recognised a t610 right after you press the on button., and then you see it uploading the loader right after that. No sitting around waiting for something to happen at all.

Keep trying, and follow the instructions to the letter. And only 1 short press on the "on" buttn - don't hold it down.

Krypton_John,

I've tried it many times - with just a short press of the power button. I've even tried pressing it with a pen top to make sure the contact is made! I think the problem may be the cable (going back to my earlier post). If you have successfully completed the flashing, can you let me know where you bought your cable? Or post a photo of the end connections (taken with your T610 camera!) - as I've seen variances in pin placements from different suppliers. Some have 2 plastic extrusions and some have just 1. Or better still, can I buy your cable?

if anyone is looking for AVR files needed for the SonyEricsson server program get them at this excellent site

http://www.cellular-support.com

Its new up, but has all the AVR files.. just go to "Downloads"

**Remember to only flash your phone with the same firmware version eg. R1A081. Choose a language and download it... This is for removing Vodafone.

P.S. Someone made a post a while back saying the vodafone icons aren't that bad.... well i have to totally disagree,... they are terrible. they have poor colours and are hard to make out... voda has replaced the "more" button on the main screen etc and I just dont know how anyone can be happy with it at all...

An update on the "What T28 cable do I need to use the sonyericssonserver flash program?" debate.

I've found a picture and description of the cable required to use the flashing software. It's on the excellent a site website (who sell the flashing software). If you go to the a site website and follow the link to the flashing software, there's a link to the cable specifications.

Note the single plastic extrusion in the middle of the phone connection end. The cable I've been trying to flash with has 2 of these. Maybe this is why I can't get past the "Switch your phone on !!" message from the sonyericssonserver flash screen?

Comments welcome...

Simon

What that means? I've R1L, when a new firmware goes out I'm stuck to the old one? I will never be able to upgrade firmware?
