T610-girl just tell him you want to look after his gift so you are going to trade it in for something less buggy and less vunerable to viruses. As far as I am aware, I do not have the virus, I was just trying to download the correct patch from MS web site. The best of it is, they have a help section which you have to pay for. Takes for ever to get to to find this out, and it is easier to come here and get all the help you need from the peole that are in th know. Thanks again everyone for all your help, it is a good feeling to know that there are so many of you out there willing to help others.

Have you tried the dree part at support.microsoft.com, have you tried putting an incident through via help and support on your start menu.
I've had free support since I bought XP the day it was released - I don't know where you're looking.

His PC has proberbly crashed again, be nice he will have all that work to do again. Anyway let us not drop down to a level of mine is bigger than yours syndrome. If we all used the same stuff the world would be a very boaring place. I think the pros and cons of PC V's mac could go on for ever, but I think it is time this thread was locked before we start offending people.

What You Should Know About the Blaster Worm

At 11:34 A.M. Pacific Time on August 11, Microsoft began investigating a worm reported by Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS). A new worm commonly known as W32.Blaster.Worm has been identified that exploits the vulnerability that was addressed by Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-026.
Who Is Vulnerable?
Users of the following products are vulnerable to infection by this worm:
* Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0
* Microsoft Windows® 2000
* Microsoft Windows XP
* Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003
The worm was discovered August 11. If you downloaded and installed security update MS03-026 prior to that, you are protected.
How to Tell If Your Computer Is Infected
While some customers may not notice the presence of the worm infection at all on their computer systems, typical symptoms may include Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 systems rebooting every few minutes without user input or Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 systems becoming unresponsive.
