> MiniGPS UK cell codes?
Bookmark topic
I've been in touch with Psiloc who make miniGPS and there is a new version which should be on the website very soon. I've been fortunate to be able to try it, and I can confirm that importing cells works! Just copy the .csv file to your phone and open it with file manager.
I have one hundred and ninety something cells I think, so I'll post the .csv file on my geocities website when I get home from work.
Hopefully this will breathe some life back into this thread again!

Result. I've only collected about 30 yet, mostly between Loughborough & Kenilworth.

will they need to be network specific csv files then if the length of the cell ids is different?

I would imagine so. The cells I've collected are Orange

Hi there,
You may want to have a look at this site. Just pop in the post code and it will find the base stations in that area for all networks. You just need to click on the bases to find which one is yours.

Hope it helps.
p.s. Looking forward to seeing that csv file

The Orange (Hutchinson) units on that link don't have reference numbers that match those which I've collected, oddly.
Anyone on other networks had a look?

@alex4 - Do you know what? I haven't checked the ID's from those I've collected against the government one.
I'm on O2 and I'll check the work ones against those on the map and get back

@4lex
I've had a look at the post code area around work, id'd the MMO2 masts and tracked them to those I have collected already. It's intersting to see the ones that my phone has logged into are not necessarily the closest ones. The map helped my name the masts properly other than Work 1, Work 2, I can name them Liverpool Street, London Wall 1 etc.

Sorry guys - been having a net access nightmare for a couple of days! Found out last night that I can't upload anything other than htm or jpg files to my Geocities space, so if anyone has anywhere they can host a .csv file let me know and I'll email it to you.
There's 96 cells named, on the Orange network, mostly in the Nottingham area, but also following the main Nottingham -> London train route! I'm going on another trip soon so will post another file in about two weeks time which should cover Nottingham -> Caernarfon (north wales).
Please let me know if people find this useful because I'd hate to be wasting everyone's time/bandwidth!
Psiloc asked that I don't distribute the new version that they emailed me, because it would be on the website v soon (they told me the same day that they sent the email). If it hasn't appeared in a couple of days I might be persuaded to email it to a select few, on condition they don't forward it!
