I was considering upgrading to a T610 or 3650. I wouldve got the T610 (I aint a Nokia fan) if it wasnt for T-Mobile telling me that they have suspended sales @ mo.

I got the 3650 and Im not regretting it! Ok its a bit awkward 2 use @ first but u get used 2 it and I have put bout 16 Java apps and games on the phone and have still 7MB left on the 16MB MMC including ringtones and pix! I figured it doesnt waste excess memory in storing data as seen on the T68 and T610.

U can view HTML web pages using various available browsers and there are so many Java programs available for it. Also the cam quality is unbelievable compared to SE phones.
I would recommend it! (I Dont believe I am saying this about a 'Nokia'!)

i agree, java is total cr*p, why do people like it ? i mean sure its multiplatform, but i think the java interpreter takes up most of the space on the t610, what a waste of space, java sux bigtime, mohpun is much better,

at the momeny, my choice is T610, well, maybe until the Orange SPV2 comes out, which looks impresseve, if its the same size as the T610 then i will get it, plus it supports java and other software

The worst about java is that isn't really multiplatform, since some API usually differs between manufacturers..

If it was truely multiplatform, then all the java enabled phones can run all java games. But most of the time, java games are made for specific phones... especially nokias. Not a lot work on my p800.

i found this excerpt from the whitepaper:

Supported protocols
The Z600 supports “Sun OTA recommended practice
for J2ME CLDC/MIDP” and ordinary MIDP 1.0
applications without extension API’s.

now what in the flaming does it say!? someone please explain...

EDIT:
according toAdapting your MIDlets to the
Sony Ericsson T610/T616/T618
and Z600
pdf by sony ericsson, the T616 (and only the T616) supports this Wireless Messaging API (JSR-120).
now that does THIS mean!?

I have to agree, I have found alot of java games that were made for the 7650 dont work on the 3650.

Id guess the problem is the developers and not the actual Java itself (which is probably truely multiplatform?) as I have noticed some developers end up bringing out updated games/apps that do end up working with both phones.

supports this Wireless Messaging API (JSR-120).

Jsr-120 is a Java Specification Request that deals with wireless messaging. Which basically means SMS, both sending and receiving (read).

Ota means Over The Air. The sun specification explains how midlets should be delivered to devices. Namely how to build the jar, write the jad, configure the web server and provide a download link to the user.

Hope this helps.
