> horrible reception - t68i

I also had reception problems with T68i but on T-Mobile network. Had to place calls 3 and 4 times. Calls were dropped again and again. Started out OK then got worse. Service was so bad I signed up with AT&T and T616 phone even though I had over 6 months left with T-Mobile (thank God I only signed for one year with T-Mobile). At the same time I had signed with T-Mobile so did my friend (she got a motorola phone). She hasn't had any problems at all. Both my new phone and new service work great. Since you have a T68i on AT&T I'm inclined to think it's the phone. Like you said nothing matters if you don't have service. I bit the bullet and chalked it up to experience (I'll never sign for more than 1 year now). BTW, tried the new software thing and that didn't work either. Good Luck!

the t68i is horrid in north america. i was satisfied with mine.(TMO in the NE)i was told software upgrade will not improve RF. motorola will not fare any better. if you want reception, i read that the nokia 3650 is very good with RF, that is if your comfortable holding a TV remote control in your ear. however, like you said RF is your priority then 3650 is a good buy. goodluck.
* you can still get a good price for the t68i, unless its locked to ATTWS

I had the same problem with a T68i. I replaced that with a T306 and the problem didn't go away. My new R520m works just fine in all the places the SE phones died on me. It seems as if SE has forgotten to include decent antennas in their new phones in an attempt to get more junk inside of them. I thought I might miss the little toy features of the T306 but I'm really liking my R520m.
Everything I could find about older Ericsson phones like the T28, T39, and R520 said their reception was excellent, even in the 1900MHz bands. The T39 and R520 also have Bluetooth connectivity which was a major bonus for me because my Powerbook also has BT. If you can find one on eBay (mine was $65 brand new and unlocked) I think you might be suprised with it.

nah... most probably is the atena issue.... get it check at the service center. coz my friend T610 just fixed because of the same issue here. very bad reception compare with the same T610 his wife having.
but after send in to service center. his problem solved. cheers dude

I guess, you are right. I don't believe that all phones T68i have poor reception at 1900 MHz.
I have used my T68i still at 900 and 1800 and I can't complain at all.
So, does someone has some good story about T68i and 1900 MHz?

nah.... poor reception can't fix by master reset. go to the nearest authorised service center and ask them to check on the reception. normally have the solution for it....
and please... the antena is at the back ofr the speaker... when u try to make a call or receive a call... try to prevent touching anywhere near. this can affect the performance of the reception.
