The P900 I purchased in the US was over $1.5K so I don't think it's worth thought for you.. However, I got it very early so it required bigger bux. They are down to $800 - $1K now.

BigFeat is absolutely right about US customers being pigeonholed and given the shaft with cellphone companies here.
People think I'm some kind of visionary, or even overly flambouyant because I choose to buy SIM free, non-company branded phones that I can use anywhere I choose. Some of my friends still can't get their heads around the idea that the phone is just a conduit to the Sim card. They just don't get it!!!
To be honest, I was in the dark until I visited some friends in England a few years ago. Once I found out what the deal was with GSM technology and how different and "sensible" it is compared to CDMA and TDMA, I reacted and got some education fast. I hate to be left in the dark.
People here don't even see the phone manufacturer, all they see the PROVIDER. So they'll say "Is that a Sprint phone?" or "An AT&T phone?", as opposed to knowing the differences between a Sony Ericsson and a Samsung.
Someone said T-mobile has the P900 in the States, but I think that's just a flat out lie. They never carried the P800 here and I doubt they'll have the P900. T-mobile tried pushing the little brother to the XDAII when it first came out and it was a marketing failure.
Now they sell the Blackberry devices because they know a lot of people can tie those into their corporate email accounts (Blackberry PDAs are VERY popular here...and not even the color ones).
AT&T only sells the P800 online, but it doesn't carry it in any of the stores. This is because its not a phone in demand and is not popular. So why overstock their warehouses with merchandise that's not going to sell?
Phones like the P900s are "awareness" phones and people who are aware of their existence can go looking for them. A lot of Americans are woefully "unaware" and will remain that way for a long time to come, unfortunately.
