Powered off the phone, Took off the flip. Powered on the phone.
Wh! no keypad lock in virtual keypad mode!!!!

Well, reading some of the comments here, it seems that there is an issue with the alarm software. Being an ex Psion 5 owner there is usually some sort of ini file somewhere to delete. Delete that and the alarm software is reset so...

The bottom line is....

Fire up Sman or your favorite file explorer.

delete c:\system\AlarmServer.ini

Restart the phone and your lock will be back.

you'll want to also reconfigure your alarms and ringing sounds as the ini file has been deleted.

It works for me however the phone still isn't quite right as closing the virtual flip doesn't lock thumb wheel rotations.

To fix this, be sure to press the menu and 1 key in the screen keypad when locking. Not quite as neat as a simple screen close but hey, its a work around.

I hope this sorts out your worries with this irritating little bug.

why is my p900 problem just the opposite of yours?

i have the flip removed, i can lock the screen with no problem but my p900 has no unlock screen

when the screen is locked, then i press jog dial towards or away then press inward there's no unlocking. the jog dial is responding to commands but still the screen always on locked mode.

as a remedy, i did not put the keypad replacement plastic cover so i could press the "tiny switch" on the lower right corner of the fone in order to have the screen unlocked.

any ides on this problem?
