Well, I suppose you could spesifically ask for a non-branded phone when you buy one. That way you can be "assured" in not getting a locked phone. If Vodafone does not do that, then go to CPW or Phones 4 U or any of the other stores that sells phones for all networks. You should be able to find some good deals now seeing as everyone is in the Christmas feeling and thus offering special deals and discounts.
