if the "adaptor thing" you mention is the P800 back cover then all that does is plug into the standard p800 duo slot and provide the capability to insert a standard size memory stick into itself. you are still limited to 128mb
its really about time people accepted the
fact that P800 and P900 maximum DUO size is 128mb and its been mentioned in the
Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) for a long time now and I have mentioned several time now include
this recent thread that I have tried 256mb duo pro etc and it DOES NOT WORK

There is no such thing as an original Memory Stick larger than 128MB. Full stop. Period. The end. Deal with it. Get over it. Accept it. Now and forever. This is an absolute, unavoidable limitation of the Memory Stick design. It is not, has never been and will never be possible to make a Memory Stick device with more than 128MB of address space. Got it?

ok i have q that's completely offtopic but anyway...
my brother has recently bought sony v1 and he wanted to buy a 512mb card, and when i've looked for the prices on the net i notticed that a NORMAL ms pro 512 mb costs more than a DUO ms pro 512 mb, and why is that?
btw: he already bought the normal one but i am just curious.....

@peregrinum
So reading between the lines are you trying to say in a subtle kind of way that the P800/P900 will NOT ACCEPT anything else except a MEMORY STICK DUO UPTO 128MB only period

@MMSMAN -
Prices are going to differ between vendors. Moreover, much like the vendors 'mistakenly' posting incorrect description for memory card types they screw up the prices as well. I found a 256mb DOU pro $150USD cheaper then a 128mb DUO which the company actually labeled '128mb DUO PRO'. This was supposed to be a reputable company by the way. The sales guy didn't find it odd that they only advertised a 128mb DUO as 'PRO' nor the fact that this supposed 128mb DUO PRO should be $150 more then the 256mb DUO PRO.. When you read things like this it makes you shake your head. When you confront the people selling it and this still try to sell it to you as they advertise it you can't help from wondering whether you have the word 'dumb ass' posted on your forehead.

@bigfeat
yeah i know that stores are often mistaken especially internet stores, but if you do a quick search in froogle you will found out that the majority of stores have the normal one listed as more expensive,
though this is probably just because they don't check their prices often and they still have "old" prices, though it's strange....
edit: oops actually i rechecked the prices and it turns out that they are correct, sry i guess the prices changed a litlle bit from my last visit of froogle.....

Okay I get it! MS Pro will not work and 128mb seems to be the limit, but how about a MS 256mb Magic Gate? Has anyone tried that and had any luck?
