And what about the stand in Device Manager, it's still listed as on Com5.

Had this problem a few days ago man. Turns out, the new antivirus package (Panda Titanium) I installed had something to do with it. I uninstalled the p900 suite and the antivirus then installed the suite again. My pc saw my phone once again Hope that helped.

Thanks for all the input but so far the problem persists. User's manual says to uninstall PC suite and keep syncsation then reinsall PC Suite which I did but still no use. Also manual says baud rate should be 460800 which I set.
I really have no idea where to go from here except wait for

's response.

Omar,
I’m sorry man, but I'm all taped out and have no more tips for you. I know how completely annoying this. Hope it works out for you...
May the force be with you and SE

A few more thoughts:
1. Have you installed the latest XP Pro service pack updates?
2. Do you have admin rights under XP?
3. There are no COM port conflicts
4. Have you tried different USB ports?
5. Have unistalled any Nokia or Palm connection s/w?
6. Tried installation with the sync station not connected to the USB during the installation of PC Suite (delete/remove the USB drivers as these could also be corrupt)

I'm still facing the same problem as Omar, but i've come up with a temporary (hopefuly) solution. Since my sync station works fine with syncronazing and installing programs, so i'm using an IR cable for file transfer.

Jah: The answers to all your questions is that I've done all that and it still doesn't work. Different USB ports, install/uninstall, etc..

One last thought, did you try to unistall your firewall s/w (not just disable) and then try to re-install PC Suite?
Also if you have Ir or BT try these are the fault could be with your synch station.

I'll give it a try but I'm not that optimistic, 2 different firewalls on the 2 PC's.
