This is no issue4me.I even like the feature-when outside it vibrates and i usually answer b4 it rings. When at home, the feature comes in handy cuz i dont jump out of bed everytime some1 calls. I agree they had2put it cuz of those health warnings but u can't just let the customer decide if it is a health issue. I just dont think thats such a big deal-its an awesome phone. I would like it if they did a secret code for turning of the feature!!
And what I mean with secret, is not totally secret. A code that only advanced users have, like us in esato! I think almost everyone here can be seen as an advanced user!

Ascending ringtones ARE an issue to me. Not because I want to show off a midi ringtone (I don't like musical tones), but because I often miss calls whilst I'm walking down the road!

In heavy traffic, by the time I've actually heard the phone ringing and fished the phone out of my pocket, the answer phone has already kicked in.

I just wish that the tones were generally a bit louder, I suppose, but the ascending ring certainly doesn't help.

And I don't particularly want to walk down the road with a BT headset stuck in my ear either!

Anything that undermines the BASIC function of the phone should be removed or improved. The only reason why I hate the increasing ring so much is because I missed a lot of calls, business calls, because of this. I simply couldn't hear the ringtones fast enough when I'm outside or in noisy places. Plus the vibration is not that strong compared to some Nokia's.

I understand SE is trying to protect the user, but putting an electronic ring PLUS the increasing ring is an overkill. Three short beeps or just a single (1 second long) electronic ring before the full volume ringtone will do the job, no ascending needed.

And to those who LIKES the ascending ring, well good for you. But not everybody is like you, some/many people live in different conditions and senarios, and they need to hear their ringtones in full volume to hear incoming calls. All we're asking is the OPTION to disable to increasing ring. All you ascending-lovers always had this option which suits your living/working condition, why can't we??

Sorry about the rant.

Well said Novell. I hear you!

Anyway, any idea when will the T630 arrive on our shores?

My T610 allows the increasing ring tone to be turned off under settings, sounds and alerts, increasing ring. Unless I'm mistaken.

welcome to Esato

yeah that is correct but if you notice you still get an esclation as the ring starts even with it turned off. The difference is with it off it is much quicker escalation than when it is turned on.

...and oi! thats my sig!
