No matter how much space SE give us for sms people will always want more. Its human nature. This message was posted from a T300

the SMSs are only deleted when you insert an other SIM card then you own. When you put out and in your SIM card, the SMSs stays in the phone. It is just a security thing, when a friend of you borrows your phone he could not read the SMSs.
You can store them into your SIM card indeed, but the SMSs (and Phone numbers) in the SIM card, make the Phone much slower. I never save a SMS into my SIMcard, when my phone says 80% full, i just go to 'delete all' My girlfriend sends me messages enough.

Why not back them up in future using Floats Mobile Manager so then you don't have to save sms's to the sim if you plan to take out your sim card in the future. That way you will have a hard copy on your pc. Also don't see this as being Sony Ericssons fault. Computers are expected to crash and have errors and it is our responsibility to back up our data to ensure we don't loose anything. So I think on this occassion it is just as much your fault as it is Sony Ericssons and your phones fault.

My first post

Saving as many smses in the phone is a users choice, we are not the ones to argue if it is rational or not. Somebody likes to have smses on his phone, someother may want to delete them as soon as possible, it is a choice.

Saying something is not reasonable (and looking from your own perspective) is not helpful.

If you are talking about security: a stealer will be able to see all your phone book anyway, why not delete the whole phone book. Hey, he can also see your themes and photos, why not delete them when a sim change has occurred.
If you are anywhat logical you shall immediately see that this must not be the way to handle a sim card change. The same reasoning goes with the sms deletion issue, it doesnt make any sense.

Nokias have folders for sms handling, this is a much better way.
Try not to be a FAN of any brand.

Also storing smses on the sim card is not a clever solution either.
First of all many sims can only hold 10 messages. secondly sims are really crappy when speed is the issue.
And there is no option in t610 (or any other SE I might guess) to copy a sms back from the sim card. At least SE should have added this feature.

Thanks.

I think there should be an option in the settings of the phone if we wil get stuff deleted or not when we change the sim card. That way the people that have lots of secret messages, numbers and other stuff they dont want other to se can turn the option on. While other people can turn it of.

If want to make the phone realy secured they could have a map that is coded where we could put the secret messages in. That way now one can read them without the code.
