same situation here T68 user but what i did was...
used a soft tootbrush
water
break cleaner
and leaves no rust at this time.

I had a glass of beer over my T68i witch he didn't very well survived. The keys got sticky, 2 of them stopped working and the screen had stain. After two hours of hairdryer it went on again. Luckily I got a new one from my insurance.

I had a Nokia 8290 that went thru the same thing and survived. Only I didn't open it or anything. Just let it sit and months later just for kicks (already gotten a new phone by then) I stuck it in the charger and it worked. It's still actually working but it is a TDMA phone and I have GSM service and I have a T68i which is infinitely better

The phone won't work forever, usually they work for about half a year before they die.
My store has a Service point Stand and we "dry up" phones every day,,, but they never last.
And dont't send it to a Service Point, we can smell moisture damage from amile away

I've spilled a glass of vodka & coke over mine, let it dry and it worked fine for months until I dropped it down the loo the other day. It stopped working for a couple of days, but then it started to work again with no problems - apart from losing the time. I have taken it back to CPW under insurance as I hear water damage doesn't always have an immediate effect, but I'm without it for two weeks and have a Trium standby phone in the meantime:-(
