Well. You can save it to mu sounds but you cant put it as ringtone. My father has t230. I d/l and rec sounds. Neither in my sounds menu neither in sound setting you get the option of setting amr files as ringtone.

Well I dunno what version of phone ur Dad has but on my t230 once you record what you want, the recording is sent to My Sounds. When you go to My Sounds and select the recording you've made (named 'Recording') the first option is "Set as ring". Need i say more?

Ok, it wasn't .amr, it was the other kind. I mean, there is .mid which works, the other one which is crap and works and .amr which doesn't work as a ringtone;) Now i get it

Ok, so what they say is that u can record in the .amr format but u can't SET it as a ringtone. It's pretty simple as a concept but it's too much hassle for it ,i'll stick to my mid's which r great anyway!

Err... your either reading a different thread to me or...you're winding me up. Im not gonna tell u what the thread says. Here's pictures of what i can do with my phone...id post a video but i dont know how.
Picture of the My Sounds screen on T230...ive saved 2 recordings there, just in case the first one was luck or something :rolleyes
Picture of what happens when u select a recording:
Now if im not mistaken the 1st option is SET AS RING just in case u couldnt read it properly.
Note to T230 users....u can set recordings as ringtones easily but the quality is not comparable to mp3s....ud b better off with polyphonic ringtones. I have yet to try loading better quality amr files onto the phone to see if they work.
From what ive read only works on T230 and P800.
EDIT: Just to prevent further argument this is the T230 user manual on the official SE site. Have a look at page 53:

That says it!

I knew that amr's can be set as ringtones in the mighty t230! Hey btw is the quality decent? And loud? Then it MUST be also playing from the loud speaker in MMS messages?
