I am using myfriend for a faster way of sending sms to my friends because you selected only the ones to whom you send the most

Been trying out myfriends with another that has T630 using the yamigo service, we can connect easily but have problems sending messages to each other. I received a couple messages from him long after they were sent, and he never received mine. I did also always appear as offline in his list, while he was online in my list.

Also I had to add my MSN-Address when registering, does this mean that my friends will be compatible with messenger?

Sounds like that "my Friend" feature is like the Agile messenger for Symbian UIQ.

Hi skjalg,

The IMPS specs are relying on the client to poll new messages from the server. Depending on the poll period you get correspinding responsiveness from the phone.
The more polling the more aware it gets, but more traffic is generated. Is a trade off. The specs allows the asynchronous mode but the NAT that the operators are doing makes it impossible to work currently. The client would need to have a public ip address. Until then it needs to poll.
There is limited support for contact lists and presence update information.
Within a week or so we plan to deploy a new version fixing this limitation.

Cheers,
Bogdan

Unfortunately, this feature is still not available in India.

Thank you for your reply, allthough I am not quite certain exactly what you mean.

Anyway, today we can send messages without problems, but we still appear as offline in each others lists. Also it seems necessary that we have to add each other every time we log in - we cannot send IM before we have added the nicks one more time.

The my friends on the T-mob version in UK has been removed, quite annoying really.

A new version was deployed a couple of days ago at Yamigo. Try out the status of other buddies. I hope that know they are showing up online. PLease confirm. Yet the buddies are not persisted between the sessinons and looks like we need to support that (err the specs are loose regarding this aspecs). Please confirm this as well.

Cheers,
Bogdan

Hi there,
I can confirm that Z1010 has this feature as someone from SonyEricsson tested the phone agianst our server. Hmm cool stuff. Yet as this phone is not on the market, anything is possible, so if the manufacturer so see fits he may decide to ... you know

Cheers,
Bogdan

Right, lets cut to the chase......I registered with Yamigo.....put the settings into my (brand new and bloody fantastic) T630.....and logged in......

and.......

then......

NOTHING HAPPENED!!!!!

Do I have to know someone else with the same "My Friends" feature on their phone who is also registered with Yamigo?

I am a constant user of MSN Messenger to contact friends and familyn from my PC - can these contacts me added to this service

OR.....

Is there some other fantastic and technological way to use instant messaging on my little phone? (and nobody say "SMS"!!!!)

Christoff.......
