Be very careful when opening the P900. Please make sure that you remove all 4 screwa before trying to open it, not just the two on the bottom. The other two if hidden awayaboce the camera, under two pieces of plastic with adhesive backing.

Most likely you will have problems pulling the top and the bottm parts away from each other. What ever you do, only use plastic tools for prying, or you will damage the casing for sure.

Opposite to the P800, the P900 should rest on the backside and the top is to be removed...

Yesterday, I opened the P900 very carefully, and put an ever so thin layer of electronics grease on the casing sides. Whiped off as much as possible again, until almost nothing was left. I reassembled and the squeak was gone.

Today I noticed that I had to push the power button something like 0.5 mm longer into the phone for the power to come on. Won't have that! I opened again and found out that there was quite some space for the main board to move around. I loosened the two screws, pushed the board towards the side with the power button and tigthened the screws again. Reassembled the phone and now the power button was ok, but the squeaking sound was back!

Opened it yet again and pulled the main board. I had noticed that the noise was coming from somewhere between the Duo gate and the internet button, so that is the area I concentreted on. Right beside the Duo gate, I could see the plastic was getting white, as if something has rubbed there. I put a very thin layer of electronic grease on, whipped it off again so only a tiny amount was left, and reassmebled once again. This time everything is working perfectly!

My experiences, combined with the refined pushing-technique , makes me wonder if they are having a problem with the seating of the main board...

After I have assembled the phone 100% correct, it's impossible to push the sides in even the slightest bit. If some of you reading this would please try your phone and see if any movement is possible?

Hehe

Easier to win my respect by having a good sense of humour than by having a certain phone

i did the same, took it apart and lubed it. it doesnt squeak like a gay pig on honeymoon anymore but theres still a bit of give on the side panels.... i prized the flip apart and greased that too, feels good now.

Hey,

I've had my p900 since christmas and I have many scratches over the phone housing, especially just above the screen. I was wondering if there is any way of purchasing new p900 housing that I can replace the scratched housing with? Please reply to me asap because I am in desperate need of p900 phone housing!

Welcome,What do you do with your p900 fighting? Even if you get another my friend you possibly ruin this too the problem is that you must be carefull with the phone or at least get a descent screen protector and some protecting case for your phone. As for the new housing i think you can get one from sonyeric service.
