@gelfen, exactly my point, but thanks for claryfying it for any other people slow on catching on my remarks. I bet it's Mac users (the smart ones, yes, they exist!) that write these viruses due to thier inherent hate for windows... That would make some sense in people doing it!

LOL, simple people? whatever mate, what has that got to do with the topic of viruses?
O/T
The beauty of the Mac OS, is simplicity, if thats a bad thing, then u really are 'uber'. For example, what would you prefer - drag and drop install / uninstall (of apps) or the long drawn out 'are you sure?' process on Windows...

Well as the one of the original intentions of macs are for people to be able to use them without any computing knowledge then I regard them as quite simple. Unless your a graphic designer, in which case it does get somewhat more complex.
And yes, I would prefer to choose what happens in my installation process, so i can choose exactly what get's installed and what doesn't, choose where it goes and see what's happening. I prefer that by far than to just click install...
The new design of apple is something that does impress me, of course it does, they are really good looking, and it's what stopped them from going bankrupt and gave microsoft comptetion to keep them on their toes. But that doesn't mean they are good computers, and it doesn't mean, well much, apart from they employed a really good, british, designer.
Anyway, this is not the place for a windows vs. mac discussion, and I would just like to add that I don't think Windows is amazing either, but at least it's cheaper and I can choose what goes into my PC, I can get the specific hardware i want, and there is readily available software for all my needs. But no, it's not perfect, but that's one thing apple fanatics need to understand about their beloved systems too.

I agree.
As for installation and all, you really need to try out Mac OS X then. Installations don't even seem to be installations, u missed the point. If you download an app, you simply mount the disc image / extract the zip .. and the application is typically a '.app' extended file. Basically, this is like an '.exe' in Windows... you've got no crappy DLL library, all you do is drag this file, to the Applications folder, and BAM, you're done - no extra stuff being installed all over... U wanna remove it, drag it to the trash... Simple buddy. Simplicity doesn't stop there, simplicity is what drives iPod / iTunes sales... So if thats a bad thing, so be it. Personally tho, its nice to see everyone panic over news of new viruses.. My computer doesn't intrude me like this, that was the initial point of my post.
Peace.

@ Jim
On the thread was a mention of the "norvarg" virus. Next day I get an e-mail on my p900 from an e-mail address I don't know. Turns out it was that same virus. Bit too much of a coincidence.
Now everytime I backup my phone I get norton telling me its detected that virus. I reckon it was someone on that thread who sent it, thats all. Its a bit more than a joke.

But back to discussion, @jim, it was definately a joke. Not sure why people would take it otherwise. But then again people in that thread were trying to search their phones with norton which doesn't make too much sense as brainbox above discovered, if it's not designed for the platform it wont work, so not only the fact that a windows virus wont affect a symbian phone, at the same time, a program designed to find windows viruses wont find symbian one's.
Using "Brainbox" as a soucastic reference to me which questions my intelligence I don't like. You don't know me, I don't know you.
I don't appreciate your soucasm, I don't appreciate your cheap stab at me. I also don't appreciate your discussion on Macs as this is a P900 discussion board.
What is wrong with you? Do you feel deficient in some way and so you have to try and put people a notch below you to compensate? Or are you just arrogant that you feel you can call anyone anything you like? Or are you just having a bad day?
Whetever the reason just please while your reading this, keep you composure and see it on my point of view. I don't want to be insulted, I want to have discussion on the P900/P800.

And this thread just serves to prove how little most people know about virus propagation, and computers in general.
