Some of the things I don't like about my P900 (aside from some of the points mentioned by the other posters here about the Flip closed limitations) are the lack of built in phone based backup, the inability to copy all contacts to sim all at once and the extremely limited File manager.... But so far the good outweights the bad for me here so I am still happy with my purchase.

And to whoever said manuals shouldn't be put in the boxes because it saves trees. Sod that, I hate trees, what have they ever done for us?

There given more credit than they deserve.

I hate flip closed, create sms, type message t9, then leaving the message, try and go back and can only do it in flip open, no t9. Why did I bother?

Apart from that it is the best thing at the moment in the world, better than those damn trees anyway.

And you had the audacity to question my spelling... pity Esato don't offer a grammar check before posts are made, as well!

Methinks research for my part is over...

Hi fazzy98, As for number 10... you could tap-and-hold the stylus on the screen while looking at the black triangle on the right side of the screen. When you see the triangle dissapeared, you could then start to drag to highlight the text you want. Hope this would help. This message was posted from a WAP device

And you can download the manual to your PC from the SE site.

I did.

As for me, a smartphone like P900 would not be smart in the Flip-Closed mode. In that mode it will be just a phone with basic functionalities (send SMS, read & reply SMS, make a call, etc.). For advanced functionalities P900 should be in Flip-Opened mode, with access through touch screen & stylus. This is just my opinion and no offense to anyone. This message was posted from a WAP device

A couple things:
- any reasonable contact system, in my view, would allow:
1) you to store birthdays and anniversary's with the contact and have a reminder system for upcoming event;
2) allow you to relate contacts to each other or have the concept affiliates (as my Newton does). For example you could store kids and spouses as records off their parents contact.
3) would give an indication in the basic viewif you have stored any notes on the person . I shouldn't have to click the notes tab to see if there are any notes.

- also the jog dial could be used much more efficiently for navigation.

Many more but these come to mind.

That said, I still think the phone is great and is certainly the best PDA/phone combo going.

Quote:5. Why doesnt the email client have an option for "storing email on the server". When you delete an email that has been downloaded it automatically deletes the same mail off the mailserver!!!! Annoying!

To be fair this isn't the P900's fault. After you have downloaded an email to your PC (eg via Outlook) most ISPs (if not all) delete the email from their email servers. This is the same with your phone, after you have downloaded the email it gets deleted from the server that it was stored on. They arent smart enough to know that you have downloaded it with your phone. Anyways after you have read it and deleted it why would you want to keep it on the server?

Whilst you may initially expect this, closer analysis would allow you to ascertain that some of the more power hungry apps are available in flip closed mode... the camera being one such program... so actual processing differences between flip open and flip closed remain much of an anomaly to me...

Maybe much lies in the difficulty and lack of knowledge of programming in flip closed mode...
