I too downloaded the 983kb (took 3 attempts - Orange and their cr*p GPRS) ‘Sis‘ file but it will not install.

The file will not install via Applications-Install nor if I click on it (No viewer can be found...etc.)

I even tried renaming the file to get rid of the extra '.' without joy.

Perhaps you got the 6.20 version, when I got the latest 6.30 I saw many mirrors still had 6.20 instead of 6.30

The new version looks VERY nice - but they still don't seem to have sorted the memory problems that made me uninstall Opera in the first place.

Even after a reset, and with cache set to 'small' - after only a couple of minutes of browsing with Opera I start to get 'low on memory' errors.

I'd definitely like to see more apps that use the TrueType fonts though - it would make me almost contemplate reading eBooks - a textual web page rendered with Opera in full screen mode is IMO more readable than a page of text on Microsoft Reader on an Ipaq, despite the smaller screen.

Whats the chance of a future firmware upgrade so TrueType fonts are used as the standard method text display??

The memory problem is annoying to say the least. You could improve the situation somewhat by getting rid of any wallpapers you are currently using and using a program like SMan to make sure that no other apps are running when you use Opera.

Its annoying enough that I expect I'll remove Opera within a couple of days and go back to the default browser, DESPITE the (very) good bits of Opera.

Give me an Opera that doesn't suck memory and an SMan that doesn't suck battery and I'll be happy.

Does SMan eat up battery power? I have never noticed it putting an enormous strain on my battery. Interested to hear other's views\experiences.

doesn't drain for me but perhaps funky-magic (or yourself) might like to create a new thread for that topic if this discussion is to continue (since this thread is about opera 6.3 )
