YES! Majority of the posts I read were all - right ! As @vlammetje would have correctly used the term - 'outsourcing' is very well placed in the right context.
Many American and some European - big companies are putting up some of it's plants/production line and the likes in Asia right now. The very major reason is because of the very 'cheap' production and labor costs as well. I do remember when I was still in High School where some of my classmates used to wear Nike branded shoes which were entirely manufactured in the USA! If it does happen that you were wearing one that's Japan or Korean made - you're out of the 'circle'.
Here in Manila alone, many big US companies have already erected/put in big investments, such as the Ford Co., FedEx, DHL etc. It is considered that China holds the biggest share. Taiwan I guess is still #1 in making semi-conductors/chips, 'cause they do have many skilled laborers who are literally trained well in that aspect of line of production. My Uncle alone who works in America's top 100 firms (Safeway) brought their 2 departments here - IT, aside from the very cheap salary that they pay, they also took into consideration that Filipinos are the world's 2nd best computer programmers in the world, 'outbested' by India about 3 years ago.
In the case of (Sony) Ericsson, they do manufacture celfone in Malaysia (all started about 6 years ago), I remember that when I bought my T10 last '99, I was really surprised to see that it was Malaysian made and not Swedish ! Some fones were already rolled in the production line (Malaysia) way before the T10 was made there.
About the chargers, as a result of having some stringent control with it's budget, I guess SE sourced-out it's manufacturer's in the Asian region as well - but the standard of making accessories with good performance (quality control) is still there!

@purge - @bobafett is just used in posting '/// ' as an SE trademark or sign (is that right @bobafett?). And it is so happened that Fiat has the same trademark as well.

The sign '/// ' is also being used by Fiat (trademark), that's why @purge have mistakenly (an honest mistake back there) thought it was Fiat. The trademark - '/// ' is also being used by - ADIDAS, if you might have just forgotten ?

@dmb2000uk- You got a point there mate! Since thay were all patented right? I guess 'copyright' is for music and book labelling. Just to site an example here, there's this new (but) small company who opened a fasfood chain type of resto and named it - 'Big Mak', so McDonald's sued the newcomer. McDonald's has all the right with their move, since they are both competing in the food industry. Guess what the result was? The newcomer won the case, the judge's decision - 'different' spelling! 'Big Mak' against McDonald's - 'Big Mac' . . .
