Ok, my fone is booked in with the sony ericsson service center in Cardiff on Friday (luckly they are open). They have said that they should be able to easily fix within a hour (re-flash of the phone). But until then I am stuck using a crappy Mokia. Oh well.

When does the K/S700 come out again???

Thanks to everyone who has given me advise on this subject

Cheers
Stan

OK here we go :

I took my P900 into the service center on Friday, explained what had happened. They said yeah no problem come back in a hour and it will be sorted.

Got back to the store, oh sorry sir your phone is completely dead no communication to a PC at all. So it has been sent back to SE and it could be a new phone that they will send back. But i am now stuck using a stupid nokia for up to 3 weeks

My advice is be VERY VERY careful if you are going to do an online update of your firmware, you are better off taking it to the professionals to do it for you.

Oh well Stan, at least you got a result. Shame about the Nokia. You could have a Nokia bashing session when you get th P900 back.

Well for me, I lost 2 MB of the phon memory after the online update & the restore. It used to show 10.5 MB now it is 8.5 . While updating the server stopped working so I had to cancel it manually & then use the recovery mode. This message was posted from a P900
