Id go for ericsson! I have always had an ericsson. The T10, T20, T28, T39, T65, T68m. The only Sony i have ever looked at was the Z5. Even now if ppl ask me what fone it got i say 'Ericsson T610' i have never said SonyEricsson T610 unless i am writin it down on mobile insurance forms.

Really dunno to who would I stick to. Deeply in my mind three stripes are shining, but will /// be that old kind? Hopefully SE will stay as it is... :-)

I'd go back to Ericsson.
But i think this is very good as it is now.
Ericsson contributing with its know-how on mobile networks and Sony contributing with its know how in multimedia components (screens, cameras, etc...)

hmmm, not sure on that one! I had an Ericsson T10s once, and didn't get on with it at all - the keypad was horrendous - you really needed a lot of pressure sometimes to get a key to work, which was a pain in the bum when texting! I found some of the menus were a bit odd as well, but I guess that was because i was used to Nokia phones!

I also took to carrying a spare battery with me everywhere, as it never seemed to last more than a day and a half! However, the later Ericssons, like the T68 were excellent - with features ahead of it's time like Bluetooth etc.
I'd probably plump for Ericsson if push came to shove, as they seem to have innovated more, with technologies like Bluetooth and so on, and the latter phones I think do look good, simple but effective

there's always a chance it can happen.
i was against the sony & ericsson idea from day 1 actually. i knew from the start that sony was gonna take full charge of the things. and we can see that. in the designs, jogdial (which i find ok), MSD (another think would've been cheaper), markt plans, ericsson had phones for alot of market regions, low end, mid level, high end. SE added fashion and clampshell wich would've automaticly followed. but where are the strong ones? like R250 and R310? where are those slim phones like T28? you can't think the Z1010 is slim. ericsson had a concept for a 3G phone ready, it was superb, it was abit like a T68 but with everything on it better. (look at my site in the prototype section for the RX1) man that phone would've killed every brand on the 3G market.
so my votes goeds to bringing back /// but if a split would've happen it would take time again for phone to get out on the market, although i know that ericsson still makes a few phones a year for testing there network. so who knows

I do think it is possible the merger can depart one day.
Anyway I just post this as AN assumption and in this business world, you never know how the top management works things out.
Just discuss about it and I do enjoy watching so many people miss the old E/// design.
But to me its painful to see SE break up too since they do produce some suprises to me.
