hey it isn't that bad, at least it isn't as bad as the quality of the materials Philips uses in all of it's hardware, wich is really really bad.

You've got to be kidding. SE's have the best material and construction. Nokia phones rate as bad as philips, siemens feel cheap, while Moto's and Sharp's are quite decent. This message was posted from a K700

Because they are not vacuum sealed. Dust will always find its way trough any opening.

Here are N6230 owners complaining about same thing (nothing unique to SE).

My K700 is dust free, and will hopefully stay that way for a long time to come.

And it doesnt squeak anywhere, not even the battery cover squeaks. SE make the best build quality phones for sure !

@etaab: That's probably it, it really did look significantly bigger. And yeah, it's nice to have it completely covered, I wouldn't want a case with the phone sticking out. But I think I also prefer a case with translucent covering that lets me use the phone.

@loonee: I actually put a piece of paper in the K700i as well yesterday because of squeaking. Though I have a different situation because when I bought the phone, one of the four rubber holders in the back case was broken off. No idea how that happened.

For you guys who actually do open the case up, 2 questions...

1. How?
2. Could you take a photo of its insides? I've had this probably horrible idea to put coloured cellophane over the keypad light LED. To make the keys look blue (e.g) instead of pink. Would that work? (assuming the LED doesn't get hot, of course)

I would like to know how you open yours up too - there was a post on this forum a while ago which you can find by searching, but I was unable to follow the instructions very well and didn't feel they were very clear.

When you say that you use a pressurised air can to clean out the dust, I assume that you are disassembling your k700 first?...
