it seems to be the same sour grapes story every time a new phone comes out lately
sure they could have added a few more things and probably they should have, but they didn't and thats it.
nooo need to be upset and it doesn't take away from the looking forwardness (?) I have to get the P910
oh, and I also agree with MikLSP thoughts on hte subject

everytime a new phone comes out people seem to get annoyed it does nt make your old phone unusable . people can still use there p800 and p900 they dont just switch off.
i get what your saying about it just been an evolution and not a revolution but thats how businesses work make small changes and increase there profit margin
do you get annoyed when you buy a car and 6 months later a new reg comes out and you get a free extra things free probably not
at the end of the day its a new phone with enough extras to make it new if your happy with your p900 sick with it its still a great phone

No it doesn't piss me off me off at all.
I have had my P900 for two or three months...
Do I expect SE to give an update to P900 for similar functionality found in the P910.. Nope.
Does my phone suddenly stop working because of the P910... Nope
Will my P900 be crippled forcing me to upgrade.. Nope.
Did I expect SE to come out with a newer model of the Px00 range.. Yes.
The one thing that does piss me off about SE is that Fido ( my cell phone provider) won't let P900 upgrade to the newest firmware... Fido has to buy the license for the new firmware.

When software companies produce a newer version of software, do you expect them to fix all the bugs in the previous offerings - no, and you shouldn't either... they may release patches for the most critical bugs, but that is all.
Why would you expect SE to fix all the problems in the P900 when there is a newer iteration of the phone around.. If you want the bug fixes, buy the P910.
You get the bug fixes plus a newer feature set.
it is costly for companies to maintain old versions of software / hardware, especially when they are not being sold any more. Sorry, but that is business.

No, I love the P900. I would wait another year for a decent upgrade. I am completely happy with the P900. (With the exception of text-only email and the lack of profiles that is.) I still will wait another year for decent upgrade. I just think it is crap that SE will stop production on the P900 and start on a new model, essentially saying that the P900 is outdated technology.
Not only that, but if I want or need these new features I will have to pay full price for them less than a year after purchasing a top-of-the-line phone.
I do not find it acceptable that a phone which costs almost 1,000.00 USD when released is replaced by a "new" model with limited improvements a year later.
I am not pissed that a nicer phone is available. I am pissed that the nicer phone isn't that much nicer to begin with. I expect more from SE. That is why I am pissed.
I am opposed to OS and software upgrades once a year also. There is nothing in one year that is released that cannot be released as a patch or update. Otherwise, they are trying to make us believe that our current product (be it a phone, software, car, etc.) isn't good enough anymore.

I think many of you are missing my point:
I am not saying SE shouldn't release an upgrade; I am saying SE should release a better upgrade than this. This is a piss poor upgrade. This is more of a slight improvement.
I think SE should save the minor upgrades for a more substantial release, or allow us, as P900 owners, to update the software components of the device.
I am not pissed off as a P900 owner, I am pissed off as a consumer. (It just strikes closer to home considering I do in fact own a P900.)

Are you freakin' kidding me? So what you are saying is that I am foolish to expect a product that costs as much as this to work perfectly? I am asking too much to expect my phone to perform as well as SE claims it will? I am being too demanding?
That's truely the dumbest thing I have heard in a LONG time. I cannot tell you how frustrating statements like this are. Apparently I am asking too much. Of course. I couldn't honestly expect my phone to DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO!!! That would be stupid of me. Really.

No, I personally like the P910's appearance much better than the P900.
