i'd have to go with the e398

main reasons.. i think it offers better value, so far it's proven to be less buggy and expandable memory. (let's be honest 40mb does not make your phone an mp3 player.)

but if you don't have that need and just want a nice phone with some advanaced function then the k700i is ok.

radio

E398 has an application lock feature... meaning you can put password on every feature of the fone...

Therefore, no worries when someone borrows your fone and messes up the setups or access gprs or calls without your password... Even games.... he he he

I think thats a nice feature...

Nice rhythm lights also... Its quite cool when your in a bar or disco... You can really stand-out!

Oh... i almost forgot... When playin MP3 on the phone's stereo speakers... you can actually feel the fone shaking from sound resonating on from its speakers... Its like a guitar where you can feel every note vibrating... (I think thats how it gets a nice sound when playin MP3's)... Pretty cool huh!!!

I have yet to try the K700i to make comments on it...

I would never lent out my precious to anyone, so this is not an issue for me - no need to be able to lock folders

I also dont need flashing lights anywhere to stand out - my charming personality works just fine without flashes

Furthermore I dont think advertising your costly equipment in the nightlife like that is overly smart - only an invitation to get mugged

yes youre right in that twista - it doesnt

And it doesnt play videos with AAC audio like the k700 - only with amr audio like the n6230 - sounds like crap. Furthermore the transflash memorycard is to slow for videoplayback if the video exceeds approx 10fps 70kbps - for smooth playback above that you need to move the video to internal memory, which isnt 41mb like on the K700

mp3 playback from the memorycard is fine though - and the standard headphone connector jack is also a good feature, makes it easier to connect a better headset for mp3 playback.

What about the separately sold radio-hf. Can you use it both to listening to the radio and mp3...?

That would solve the radio issue...

i like the pictures taken at night using moto..... the stereo speakers are quite good to.... but looks are a bit on the down side compared to k700i..... i heard it has a very sloppy t9.

quad band means you can use the same phone in amercas and europe
