Same problem here! I've come to the conclusion that orange's customer and network services, coverage bre miles ahead of O2. You get what you pay for though, Orange was alot more expensive! This message was posted from a T610

Someone mentioned mobisms and no one picked up on it. Does this mean noone has given it a go yet. If not are there any reliable sms providers offering the same service?

The old saying "you don't get owt for nowt" is in effect here, meaning that you don't get anything without paying for it. You won't get a reliable free SMS solution for GPRS that lasts forever and always works because it's just not possible to run something like that for free for a long time - as soon as people start using it and see that it's good they recommend it to their friends, who in turn recommend it to their friends and so on. Sooner or later your GPRS SMS gateway will just die due to overuse, high costs, etc.

To be honest, I don't pay for my SMS anyway and I can live with waiting a few seconds for them to be sent. I'd rather O2 actually installed a mast somewhere in my area, as there's a whole half-mile radius round my house where it's virtually impossible to get a signal. I emailed them saying that it's not acceptable and they said they have plans to upgrade the network - the signal has been this way for over five years so I don't think it's a high priority!

Tried it many times by myself on 5 Networks in the Netherlands, it seems not to be supported, if someone knows networks that support it please let me know !

The AT commands to use ( at least when sending from your PC ) :
