Of course its an uneducated guess, but that doesnt mean that it should not be tested out. Which was my point....

Save time, read the manual and find out it will not work. Even the phone is smart enough to know that it can not read the files(places them in the others folder). This could not even be considered an uneducated try but a waste of time.

Why do you need wma when you can convert your mp3 songs to smaller mp4s (aac)? Even with bitrates as low as 64 or 56 the sound quality is very good...

WMA sound worst than proper encoded mp3 at bitrate around 128kbps and higher. Although at bitrate below 128kbps WMA may have an edge, however bitrate below 128kbps is not suitable for serious music listening anyway, mp3 suffer alot at such low bitrate. Here is a test results:

M$ always claim that 64kbps wma equal to 128kbps mp3 and 96kbps wma as "CD Quality" that is totally bullshit.
K700 play AAC-LC but unfortunately it can't be used as a ringtone (problably a bug or just an ignorance of SE developer), AAC is more advanced audio compression which is better than mp3 and wma. Gennerally speaking, AAC-LC is better than WMA at all bitrate.

MP3 at low bitrate is not good as low bitrate WMA or AAC but on K700 I've found that mp3 VBR mono at bitrate around 50-60kbps is enough for use as a ringtone.

I wasnt actually complaining. I tried it out and the file seemed to be lost on my phone and at the time I had no idea where it could possibly be. However I found it.
Just for the record wma dosnt work on the k700i, but no worries!
