I wouldn't call the K700 shit, i played with it for a while (the guy in CPW was demo-img some phones), and it is really good, i chose the 7610 over it, because it was the best slim smartphone out IMHO.

There's plenty of design flaws/shortcomings, as well as OS flaws/shortcomings, i haven't experienced any bugs as of yet, but bugs can be fixed with firmware, that's where the K700 is better:

K700: No shortcomings, except maybe DUO support, but bugs, that can be fixed with time.

7610: Shortcomings in actual device, that can't be fixed, unless handset is replaced, though no bugs.

I think it was probably the camera that swayed me, despite what i said, i still love my 7610

@maddav - I totally beg to disagree with your last post mate When I had that Nokia 7610, I did not have any problems with it at all , maybe you can agree with me with that dude, 'cause you own one yourself, if not, then how come I am not seeing not even 'one' member here making some 'querry' 'bout it Compared to the SE K700/i fone wherein almost majority of it's 'not-so-proud' owners here cry for 'foul' upon buying that piece of sh*t I can proudly say now that the SE K700/i fone is one of the 'worst' fone model SE brought out in the market - to date, mate But I will agree with some that the K700/i fone model is far much better compared to the Nokia 7610 - features wise . . . Also, I think that the software (firmware) upgrade will not 'totally' solve the K700/i's 'bugs' problems Cheers !

I didn't say there were problems as such, but that there are several features of the phone, that stop it from being great, not errors or bugs, but things that could've been done differently.

One such thing is the RS-MMC card being under the battery, so if I've been out for a day or two taking pictures, i might have 50+ on my MMC, i can transfer them via bluetooth, but that takes much longer, than using a card reader, but then that in itself takes the mick, because the phone takes about 2-3 secs to turn off, but about (checks) 30 SECONDS to turn it on (from the white screen to being able to use it) and when i'm using my phone heavily, that's not really acceptable!

Now i know i should be happy that i have an MMC at all, but if they are going to include it and a 1MP camera, they could at least try another method?

There are a few other issues that i personally have with it, because of my Apple Mac, but that's me...

Oh, and regarding the Firmware Update, of course not all of the problems will be eradicated, because when you rewrite firmare to maybe get rid of a conflict between 2 aspects, that new fimware, may involve 2 move aspects conflicting, and so on, it just turns out that once they've done a few, tend to get rid of more existing problems than are created.

@maddav - My apologies mate ! I now agree with you re: Nokia 7610's mmc (quite small), and the problems it contributes when taking out from it's slot etc. etc. Also, it's 'only' 1 MP cam . . . As I said in the past, had it not been for those 'bugs' and it's inferior battery life/use - with that of the K700/i fone model, then it will certainly be the fone to beat at present . . .
Cheers !

@jn
hey, i don't think it is proper for you to call k700i a sh*tty phone. it is alright to mention the flaws or problems of an SE phone or any other brand. I know you can't control your feelings, but please give RESPECT to the website or the founder of this site. It is a Sony Ericsson website (unofficial), or better yet, a mobile phone website that concentrates on SE products. I own a SE K700i and i do not have any problems with it. I don't even need to upgrade my fone.

@pasaway & @staz . . . - My apologies here mates . . . but I am just totally disgusted with the SE K700i that I bought last July 24th The worst thing about it is that I have to let go of my Nokia 7610 just to be able to grab one of those K700i . . . Had I known about it's 'flaws' in the very 1st place then I'll be contended with my 7610 back then Though I am still hoping that the upgraded firmware - R2L . . . will do the fixin' here

@pasaway- Check your pm mate !
