I honestly and truly respect your opinion on the phone - and of cource your right to express that opinion - and Im sad to hear that you were unlucky and got a "bad" version.
My distress was that you make alot of posts stating that it is full of bugs - as if everyone that gets a k700 will automatically get a phone full of bugs - and that is simply not true. It is especially not true if we specifically look at direct K700 bugs.
Lets take your own K700 as example - you experience alot of restarts - I have never experienced one single restart no matter what I have done - I bet you your phone is a branded one, and the restarts is caused by the branding made by your operator. As such this is not a K700 bug - this is a bug introduced by the operator and you should then direct your opinion on this bug to the operator instead of having an opinion that the K700 is bad because of this. Of cource it is also possible that you simply got a faulty handset, if so you should return it for exchange with another - but again restarting is not "full of bugs" - its is only one bug you are experincing under different circumstances whatever the reason may be.
The signal level in your room cannot really be called a bug just because you have a higher signal level on a different phone - I also have a nokia phone (along with alot of other brands) - signal levels varies from place to place - some places my nokia are best other places my S//E are best. At the same time - signal levels on 2 different manufactures are not directly comparable. One use only 5 bars to describe signallevel - the other may use 8 bars - and furthermore the values desided for each signallevel may also be different amongst manufactures. 2 bar signal level on one phone could mean the same level as 3 bars signallevel on another phone.
And yes, there are others who are not satisfied with the phone - thats ok with me - im not on a quest that everyone should love this phone - I just feel that its important to see things in the correct perspective - and give the right reasons for their dissatisfaction instead of just saying the phone is full of bugs.
Alot of people are unhappy with the lack of mp3 ringtones - and has made hundreds of post regarding this issue - but this is not a bug, this is Vodaphone disabling a feature which is present in an unbranded K700.
Alot of people are unhappy with the missing shortcut options and the missing more button - this is also not a bug - this is again an operator disabling features which is present in an unbranded K700.
and so on and so on - see things in the right perspective
I still dare anyone to post more than 10 actual bugs on and unbranded phone that can be directly blamed on the K700 and not anything else. Bugs that are real bugs, not opinions on design or functions or storage or whatever, and not "issues" introduced by operators or use of 3rd party software/hardware.
Just for the record for those not having a K700 yet getting scared by the posts about the K700 - apart from the confirmed and now fixed batterylevelmeter bug I have not experienced a single bug on my unbranded K700 ever after more than a month of use. No no2 key problem, not a single restart, not a single bluetooth problem between my K700 and my other 6 bluetooth devices, not a single contactsproblem - nothing - and I am perfectly happy with my 3 days of operating time.
Sure they may be some issues that I have simply not discovered because I have perhaps not used a specific feature in a specific way - Im not trying to fool anyone into beleeving its a perfect phone with no bugs at all - Im just trying to say that the roumors that this phone is full of bugs are wrong - and caused by a number of unfortunate brandingmishaps and other external circumstances. This phone does not have anymore bugs than any other newly released model from any manufacturer you can think of.

. Maybe what happened was that I made some 'huge-expectations' out of the fone that I will be buying back then, specially when I read @masseur's SE K700 Fone Review
Before I had that K700, I was holding a Nokia 7610, and did not experience one of those fone glitches
- no restarts, hangs and battery life lasts about 4-5 days
! I am very certain though that setting the bugs aside, the BST-30 battery life caused some here 'big' trouble when compared to old SE fones - battery performance wise
I just couldn't stand that I will have to charge the fone every 2.5 days
I am used with my Nokia's charging of at least 4 days with heavy use on it
Maybe my pereception with this fone will quite a bit change when I have that firmware upgrade
. But I am having second thoughts basing my fear with the 'dicontented-upgraders' with some of our members in some threads that I read
, also it might just damage the fone - in whole
!
Many thanks for expounding with your thoughts on how you perceive the SE K700/i as a whole dude

The form factor design of the K700 model is really nice esp the "aluminum" finish. I like the Themes feature of the phone, it simply rocks! The only disadvantage is the fixed memory as I really would like to double the phone as a mp3 player.
I'm pretty sure that the next release will have the expandable memory feature.

Do try to upgrade to firmware R2L - only avoid the R2E which came in between.
R2L firmware is great - fixes all confirmed K700 bugs and improves batterylife.

PS: there are still no upgradefirmware for the operator branded phones - sad really as those are the ones that need it the most.
I cant say this to people enough times: allways stay away from operator branded models and your mobil life will be much easier.

Don't worry about not having a K700i without upgraded firmware cos you can get it done for free for a year under warranty.
I had a Nokia 6600, but i missed my MP3 and FMradion i had on my Ngage so i decided to get the K700i. Overall it's an excellent phone but mine could do with a firmware upgrade. (Might get it done today)
Overall i've had no problems with my K700i and i am extremely satisfied with it. A few regular complaints are:
Battery Life - If you contition your battery (I.E completely charging it then letting it drain) you wont have these sort of problems.
The Screen Scratches To Easy - What do you expect if you keep you phonr in your pocket with keys, coins or anything sharp?
My Phone Crashes - Well get the firmware upgraded under warranty!
Follow these simple rules and you'll have a nice experience with the K700i!

I've just recieved my K700 this morning!
One question - does the phone usually come with a handsfree/headset for the stereo? This is a sim-free phone I bought off Ebay - I'm wondering if the seller either forgot to put the handsfree in or has lost it or something. It was bought as brand new.

@therealspawn - I am having 2nd thoughts upgrading the firmware to R2L . . .
As I am seeing disgruntled R2L . . . upgraders here as well
