Maybe because if the hardware is the same, a higher screen depth (more colours) take more processor time to display, leaving less time to decompress movies in realtime.

I have 6 days in which to return this phone (the P910i) back to Orange, and i never thought i'd say this but i would send it straight back if Orange could only give me a P900 that doesn't keep messing up within days of using it, every single P900 that i have recieved from Orange since last november has had text input & camera faults. the sinclair spectrum Qwerty keyboard is rubbish aswell This message was posted from a WAP device

How unfortunate.
Have you asked yourself if you are not making the same mistakes over and over again with different phones!?
I have a couple of stories like that: In the first months of use of my brand new state of the art Palm V (5 years ago), I reset and reinstalled all apps about 10 times until I figured out that was a poorly designed application that was randomly screwing up my PDA!!
In the Palm many innocent applications actually hacked the system routines screwing up other applications and the system itself.

@ _LAU_ i never thought of that, i suppose this would explain why all my previously P900's appeared to have similar faults. This message was posted from a WAP device
