think how long the range of your IR is!! youd have to get so close to the TV to use it you might as well press the button yourself!

For the last time: with the current specs/firmware on the k700i itīs IMPOSSIBLE to make such a java app...it requires a special API that gives acess to the IR port, that doesnīt exist in the k700i!

Itīs just the same with bluetooth: we canīt have any working java app for bluejacking or a multiplayer bt game, because k700i doesnīt suppor JSR 82 API, that gives acess to the BT port...for instance, the 6230 has it...

If only SE launched new firmwares for the new midp 2.0 phones (k700, z1010, s700, k500, etc) with those APIīs (if that is possible)...

trust me ive had the IR remote on my 6600 and its fooking useless!
now if TV's and the like would use BT for remote controls it might actually be worth having!

jus forget it!

Really? Maybe it's the application. Using psiloc ir remote, P800 range is 2-3m and blockia series 60 1.5-2.5m . not bad actually.

Hey, wait a minute... This is all about the K700. But what about the K750i?

Can't we have an IR remote for the 750i?

I see your point about he firmware, but firmware is just software, it can be updated. Right?

IR remote control is only for Symbian phones - the file is *.sis not java app - *.jar or *.jad!

Im not so sure about bluetooth. I saw someone playing a bluetooth multiplayer game on T610 which doesnt support JSR-82. How was that possible?

I am also interested to know if anyone ever developed/saw a midlet to use bluetooth on K700i.

Thx

I just tested my IR, it's range to the laptop is 50cm.

Not very far for a tv remote

@mstanescu: You can play multiplayer games over BT with the T610, but only Mophun games. That's why you saw it.
