Hi,

All K700i's that are being despatched to all O2 stores now have the latest firmware.

@heppell2k. Bring your K700 over to my house and I'll upgrade it for you mate. I have a sim free K700i and use O2 but have had no problems so far except for some of the mms not being recieved. This message was posted from a P900

Cheers Staz, i have a DSS-25 anyway-so does this mean i can update the firmware from the sony ericsson website, via the link on esato's homepage.

Can anyone actually confirm that updating the firmware on my phone will make a difference to my ability to recieve and others to return. I know my mate had an old siemens mobile on o2 and i could never reply to him when i was on vodafone. O2 need to sort this problem otherwise they'll loose customers. If i'd have waited another month since i brought mine form o2 online witht he 500 texts, i could ahve got it on orange. Timing impecable!

@Heppell2k.

You need to download the K700i sync-station driver from 's website first. The driver does'nt come on the cd thats with the phone. Once you've done that you need to configure the DSS-25 to accept the K700 as again it's not set up on the correct COM port to recognise the phone (I have to switch com ports when I use my K700, P900 and S700 with the DSS-25).

Once you've done this you are ready to start the update matey

Btw. Make sure that any firewall,anti virus,internet security programs are disabled and that the charger plug is'nt attached to the DSS-25 before doing the update.

I'm sure i read a post about how o2 jsut dont do delivery reports. Mine delvier ya see just they catn reply and im struggling receive texts. Just not sure whether an update of my firmware will defo sort out myproblem. thats another problem with o2-they need to catch up with the big guns and sort out the minor details. Such as texts actually being received!

O2 don't support delivery reports. If the person who's trying to reply to you has a Nokia tell them to disable the "reply via same centre number option" under the message settings. The same goes for any other make of phone that has this option as the user will have difficulty replying to messages from an O2 enabled phone.
There is a short code that you can type into the beginning of the text to recieve a delivery report but I can't remember what it was.

*0# is the code which you put in front of your txts in order to receive a delivery report on O2.

i spoke to a csa a few months ago and asked why o2 have so many text problems and she told me it was because thier systems are old but they were upgrading them soon. but if the free gprs farce is anything to go by text messages wont exist by the time they get round to it.
