My T630 is locked to o2 and they have even removed the My Friends link also have added o2 homepage link to o2 active plus wallpapers and other stuff!

Don't get it directly from O2, get it from CPW. That way, if there's ever a SE Online Update Service for the S700i, you won't have any problems.
