I got mine a week ago from a vodafone shop. It cost me £170 on everyone 400 with halfprice line rental (£25 instead of £50)
How did you get it for £180 on the everyone 200?
If I can change mine for that I will because I still have a week to send it back if I want.

I cant believe you all. You all sound like "in the know" sorta people.
I got a P900 last Christmas.... Free. 1 week ago I called Vodafone (UK) and said I want the new P910i and they wanted to charge me £120. I told them to shove it, argued a bit and got it sent to me in 24hrs, by courier for.... Free.
Sort it out you lot!! Stand up for yourselves and pay nothing for your phones!!!

Which is fine if you are an existing Vodafone user, I am on Orange and simply wanted the phone as cheap as possible. OK I have a fair bit of bargaining power as new purchaser but there is only so much I am willing to do to get a cheap phone
I noticed on Vodafone.co.uk you can sign up for an 18 month contract on 200 tariff for £150 so I will be visiting the shop I bought mine at and finding out why I paid £30 too much

I was with orange over a year with my p800 on plan400. But thinking u got urs couriered within 24hrs maybe i didnt bargain hard enough lol

I thought about buying the P910i sim free but CPW had none and Vodafone were a last resort shop for me, but as the total cost at the end of my contract will be £450 incl. free calls (assuming I don't go mad with phone calls) then I can't see the point in buying the handset only.
Apart from it not having that really poorly compressed Vodafone "How Are You?" crap logo.
I got my P910i SIM free from CPW just over a week ago rather than wait and get the Orange branded version for a number of reasons:
1. On a device like the P910 I want to be able to pick and choose which firmware updates from SE I take - not be restricted to operator approved versions.
2. I am hugely against operator branding on phones - even startup logos - having already got an Orange butchered K700i this has soured me even more to this practice.
3. By going SIM free if I choose to move networks at any time I am free to do so and also I can still use one of my Orange contract upgrades on something else.
Have to say this is my first sim free handset and in a strange kind of way it feels very of liberating.
The initial cost of the handset may seem steep, but then it just goes to show how distorted consumer perception of phone prices are in the uk.

If you can't afford to buy your phones unlocked then you are setting yourself up for a royal good 'ole fashion ass rape by the carrier. Sign your life away then bitch about how you won't be able to do an online update because SE won't permit branded phones to get around the system. I've seen enough of those patterns displayed by members on Esato for the past 2 yrs. It usually starts with crying over the branding and software modifications then it progresses to the more critical stuff down the line. Just another schmo jovial over a carrier handout and soon to be dissapointed once they find out SE won't give a flying F - about their branded phone.
I'm don't regret I paid $1100 for my P910, $1500 for my P900 and $1000 for my P800. Big prices, but less gripes. They were all purchased unlocked/sim-free/non-branded and better yet I got them early.. Didn't need to depend on a carrier handout..
