I don't want to be rude or upset anyone but I think the red Vodafone logo on the outer shell, where you would expect the green SE logo, looks nice. Especially with the black around.

Don't forget that for a lot of people Vodafone is a desirable brand so they might actually like the mobile better with the branding.

I do agree with that Vodafone is a lean mean selling machine and it's ofcourse good that they can push a lot of phones för .
But, if they're going to sell this branded phone I think SE should have stood up for their brand and for instance not switching their own logo into some kinda vodofone logo. SE have to promote, they have to make the their brand a well-known brand for everybody and not just us mobile freeks here at esato. They have to work for their piece of the market, and this Vodafone branding thing is indeed good but they should be careful. Look at the NEC e616 for instance, no one knew what kinda phone it was before 3 started selling it as a branded phone and calling it "a 3-mobile". And for NEC it's not so important to promote their brand in the mobile market since they already are known in other markets of electronics. But for SE who's only purpose is to sell good and advanced mobile phones this kind of 'overbranding' if I may say so is risky and should be highly considered at the moment when SE has a lot to catch up on Motorola and Nokia for instance.

The only way you can notice that the V800 is an SE phone is to read the grey little text. But the logo, that's what's so important, the V800 is smacked with vodafone logos and texts and colours everywhere you might not even now it's an SE phone, and that is very risky

I really don't care about the branding. You can always change the theme of the phone. The only thing left are the icons and some menu's with hyperlinks to v-life.

The large v-live button still remains, but the menu icons are very good. Vodafone has improved their graphics for menu icons. They are nicely animated and more colors are applied so it won't look so red.

All in all a good job. Don't mind it at all.

i dont really mind baut the branding at all.... the only thing that needs to be consider is setting MP3 as ringtones. does it really works if we attached the DRM thing.... coz theres no clear answer or atleast 3 or more people saying that they did it successfully... & im livin somewhere else without vodafone network.. so another thing that delays my purchase is that its locked to vodafone... looks like i gotta wait for sim-free.. BETTER if the unbranded ones is released by that time...

I totally agree with @vanquish here . . . as I watch a SPECIAL celfone TV series (via cable) being featured in Japan a couple of years BACK . . . they have this video feature with thier fones wherein the callers manage to see each other on both ends while they converse at REALTIME ! That was years back, I wonder if that ever takes place in Japan right now Japs do have the LATEST technology when it comes to celfone gadgetry, and with EVERY electronic item at that!
