Sooner or later all 'fones' will be a big screen, and an on-off button. That would be interesting, how and what will design mean. Think no keypads in the futur as standard, more as attach. accesoire. This message was posted from a T630

I realise SE is one company now but for both of these companies to be merged into one major force in the mobile communications industry, they would have had to assess each other and work out what exactly they would be bringing into the new company. In my opinion /// is brilliant at the actual sortware and technology whilst SE added there global brand, design and marketing.

Didn't the Sony J70 have animated menus? But this wasn't a patch on the sheer amount of features you where finding on the /// phones at the time.

I remember reading somewhere (I think it was ClubSE) that SE makes platforms and software for some Siemens handsets.

Is that right?

I think that all phone related hardware are in fact developed by Ericsson Mobile Platforms and then sold to Sony Ericsson.

WHY IS ANYBODY BOTHERED!! WHO CARES!!!!

DESIGN HAS A LIFE - it moves on - the t630 was a clear progression to the modern clean future. Personally, the t630 is more swedish than the t610. the s700i has cut alot down on the japanese s0505i or woteva its called!

why is anyone bothered about ericsson this and sony that. it is 50/50, hence the name is 50/50!!!!!!

Well said, t630 could be an '///' fone too. Weird, that this design was launched after 610. Think both 2 were ready, but the decision fell on 610. The only i like in is is the alu cover. This message was posted from a T630

T610 is the last design made by a european. all phones that come after that one or none european, so mostly japanees designs. which i personally don't like.
T100/T105/Z200 are phones made by arima a taiwanees company.
T200 was also mady by an asian company.

T200 and T100 are phones that are in line with the old /// phones.

SE brought the P800 that was a phone that /// and sony improved, a mix of both worlds.
phones like Z600 and S700 are 100% sony bassed. also the phones in japan are the work of sony designers.
the name industrial design also works well with SE. SE makes design that like moder and hightech, and are cheaper then other designs to build. downside is that not everybody likes them, mostly the old /// fans cause they like colors instead of silver.

@vanquish. I was Just taking an interest. It's interesting to me how people view how SE is evolving. It seems to me that although there does not seem to be a lot of /// from the outside of the current handsets it definitely has a lot of influence when it comes to software, menus, etc. It has been a successful alliance. Does anyone here came into thinking if these partnership will last long? Well, it is very obvious that 'merging' of companies is in the fad nowadays . . . In the celfone arena, I guess these were just the 2 of the known ones that merged a couple of years back . . .
