hey,

On the expansion slot thought....it will inevitibely be on the next phone up. Inside the phone back under the battery have any of you noticed the piece of metal as shown in the pic? It seems to be hollow and i suppose this was where SE would have put the explanion slot if they didn't decided to wait and make us pay more for it in a better phone...

Proliferation of celfones will surely be a never ending story mates! Just like production of cars, televisions, cameras etc. That is what they call - pure 'marketing strategy" !

But like masseur said... what's perfect for some isn't perfect for others.

A K700 with a memory slot and a 1.3MP camera isn't the perfect phone for me. Neither is an S700.

The perfect phone for me would be my P910, with a 1.3MP cam, EDGE, WiFi (or at least an optional accessory), and something FLATTER... about 20mm or less in thickness.

And this may not be the perfect phone for others as well who prefer those little phones.

The whole comment about the "perfect" phone, or car, or whatever... reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer designed the "perfect" Average Joe car... and it looked like crap... it had a beer dispenser, food tray, and everything an "average joe" would ask for... it was the dumbest thing on the planet.

@ipt100 - Oh yeah . . . and that image was shown numerous times here in the forum already made, mobile review.com just made an assumption that it looks - 'possible' ?

A perfect phone. This question almost begs to be ignored simply by implying that anything is perfect except God and maybe the smile of your baby daughter. Other than that all bets are off. Resdientevil had a good view of the closest to perfection. A bug free phone where we could all do away with worrying about software upgrades to constantly fix things. Sorry Whizkid, but to whine and complain about the prices in India are simply your problems. SonyEricsson is not in the biz of giving away phones or producing them for a hobby just so that you can get them cheaper. The price will drop after a few months or when the next "perfect" phone gets announced. Just because you can not have the latest and greatest because of price is not the fault of SE but the result of market conditions. If people can afford the latest and greatest at higher prices and SE can get them, I say more power to SE. If you recall a few months to a year or so ago, SE was in a deep financial hole. Guess how they got out of it? It wasn't by making perfect phones, or giving them away at a discount in India. It was by pricing them aggressively and hoping that the early adopters will pay the high prices for them, and it worked. Here in Kuwait, people are buying the S700 as fast as they can stock them. There are no price subsidies like in Germany. The S700 is going for about $1000 dollars and some people are buying two and three of them at a time. Do they complain? No, they understand that this is the cost of having the newest product on the market. I hope this lesson is no longer lost on you.

Wrong. Did you read the part where people in Kuwait, just to name one place, are willing to pay $1000 or more for the S700? They are not running to Nokia. They are loyal to SE, but they understand that phones are not cheap to develop and simply they are willing to pay the price to have the newest phone. Second, even if there was a "perfect" as you desire, sooner or later you would be back here complaining that SE should develop the perfect phone 2.0 You would not be satisfied with anything.

Hi all, hope you are well.

This may sound stupid so please forgive me if it is but i am waiting on my K700i and was wondering if the expansion slot could simply be added later if it does indeed fit in the spot shown in the pic above?

I wouldnt know how as i know next to nothing about this but was just curious if it could be done

cheers,
Matt
