I personally can't stand this 'Homescreen' and I think it gets in the way of applications such as Handyday. Can anyone please help me get rid of this screen? I have the PC file manager for P910 if there perhaps a file I clould delete?

The reason orange do this is because its a signature handset which is a range of handsets orange have worked closely with the manufacturers to offer customer quick access to the features they use the most and also offer extra software like with the P910i email wizard, contact wizard, back up and downloads. Some other signatures handsets are
K700i
K500i
Z1010 when it comes at the end of the week
All SPVs
V600
V500
7610
6600
E800
D500
Treo 600
and a few more I can think of
hope this helps

i cnat get tracker or handy day to work on flip open cos this isset to overide them.
apparently the new SONY desktop software does actually override the orange desktop?

when flip open the phone orange theme delays by about 2-5 seconds. the shortcuts are useless. I understand they are trying to standardize their phones like the Nokia but it doesnt work!
user should have the option to use the generic or orange theme.
If u dont mind breaking your insurance go and flash your phone to generic firmware.
The difference it can make is immense.

Ahhh now I know why I was so disappointed when I got my Vodafone P910 that the funky Orange icons weren't there! (maybe I wasn't missing much anyway)
But I am still trying to get rid of the Vodafone branding on startup and shutdown - has anyone found a way to get rid of this by changing the startup / shutdown files (or have they now locked it down?) except by getting the phone flashed...
