MyMail.ie is free. I've been using it for a yr now to access my MSN account. It's a wap access, but at least you get to view your MSN/Hotmail inbox for free.

I tired to access my hotmail account via these settings and i got a mail saying 'IzyMail access denied'. do you have to register somewhere first or something?

You just have to configure it correctly, and it will work. Try EmailViewer also...with that program you can even view your folders and stuff...
