yeah it seemed like a good deal. Best things is when my minutes run out, it's only 2p/min offpeak, 4p/min peak and 3p/min same network anytime. Recommended.

Got my P910i from Orange direct (0800 801080) on upgrade for 110 pounds nearly 4 weeks ago now, they waived the upgrade fee for me plus knocked off an additional 140 quid, dont go to the Orange shops coz they will rip you off! they wanted to charge me £75 to upgrade plus £250 for the phone! so i say its definately worth paying £110 for it. Blackbauer24 - Did you get any deals on your tarrif ? Where you able to get any of the new tarrifs e.g. the free evening calls.
Just wondering will they only give me money off the phone or is there any chance of them doing a deal on a price plan aswell.

@ Blackbauer24 - Cheers, just wondered if there'd be any change I could get one of the price plans for new customers. I'll have a chat with them on Monday and see what I can get.

I have had SIM free P800 & P900, now got unbranded (from Vodapain) SIM free P910i, I have no restrictions, and I have no wish to update the software as the phone works perfectly, ask yourself the questions, do I really need to upgrade my phone, if yes, will I really need to upgrade the firmware when the phone works exactly the way I want it to, just a thought.

In my experience it helps to try quite hard when upgrading.

In the week the P910i first came out, I rang up Orange upgrades enquiring about how much it would cost me. I am still on ED50 and only pay £15 per month line rental, so knew they would quote me a high price. They firstly offered it to me for £299 but I said no. The woman I spoke to said that becuase my bills average £40 per month, she could knock it down to £249.

I still wasn't happy with that so asked to be put through to cancellations dept even though I had no intention of doing so. Anyway, the woman I spoke to was cool. I just used the "...i've been a customer for years...." kind of lines. To my suprise she then offered me the phone for £50! RESULT!

More often than not, if you threaten you want to disconnect, they will offer you a better deal. I think it's wrong that existing customers have to go this far, but it works.

You sometimes wonder where Orange get their upgrade figures they quote you. I unfortunately change my phone regularly ie weekly and always ask Orange what my new proposal would cost before looking elsewhere.
I wanted to change back to a P900 and was coming up to three months since I had last used their upgrade service. I asked what it would cost and was told the phone would be £125 which is not too bad but was stunned when she quoted me £250 + VAT upgrade fee on top! I picked myself up and said "but that's over £500, I could get one on eBay for half that". She said "so what" and I stopped the call!
I eventually got a P900 for £210 on eBay.
All I can say is don't go to Orange Upgrades unless you are within one month of the end of your present contract. Or perhaps it's who you speak to on the day!
A nightmare.....
