I am sure you stand as much chance as the rest of us, I don't know your circumstances such as what network your phone is branded to, where you bought it etc, my mates phone was done weeks ago, they may not be as accommodating now if lots of people are getting it done. Still it is worth a try, if not try the people at Above Connection mentioned in my 1st reply, they did my P910i and it is great, perhaps they would do your phone, good luck mate.

it may be worth note that there is a new CPW opeing in canterbury city centre - so maybe people can try there also

Down by the new development [not the new tescos street but the new shops opposite HSBC where oatakers will be]. Walked past it today and it looks like they could be opening any day...
Interesting, how many people do we have on the board that are in Canterbury?!

Hi, I recently got both my P900 (selling) & P910i unlocked and unbranded via
http://www.aboveconnection.co.uk who I posted the phones to and were fantastic, they charged £20 per phone including return insured P&P. However the support site they use has gone down for a few weeks enthusiastic and spot on, and again there is always above connection for me to fall back on, hope you get there in the end.
hi,
all sorted now, we had some major problems whilst we had a refurb done to the shop.
for some reason our HD,website, email etc was down.
but all sorted now, and de-branding all p900-p910

What you people are suffering from is what I could be called "chain store dikk head staff/salesperson"
You get this in all the major stores that grow at a rabid rate so that their directors and shareholders can even more money for snorting cocaine and shagging prostitutes; whilst they neglect to train their staff who often know nothing more than can be written on the back of a postage stamp (e.g. Curry's, PC World etc etc)
When you go into a branch of CPW and ask for unbranding, to that person it probably sounds mystical or illegal. So rather than saying s/he doesn't know what you mean they would prefer give the appearance of knowledge and authority and tell you some sh*t about it not be possible, or you have to go back to your netwok bla bla bla.
The only thing of significance on a phone is the SIM lock. I think I am right in saying that this lock will keep the phone locked to your network irrespective of the Firmware update you use.
The Firmware update on a phone is similar to buying a branded PC whereby the version of Windows XP on your machine has been slightly been modified; what this means is that you probably cannot install an off the shelf Upgrade Version of Windows XP without first reformatting the hard drive and starting from scratch (this is akin to getting your phone flashed/Firmware upgraded by CPW).
The networks and PC builders put their slightly adapted version of the Firmware/Operating System on machines so that they direct you to their services. It DOES NOT change the machine in anyway, and taking it off WILL NOT invalidate your warranty.
Therefore you shouldn't have to lie or play ignorant when you go into CPW. You should simply be able to go into the store and ask for a generic Firmware update and they should go off and do it. END OF STORY!!
I got mine done last week and it didn't cost me a penny.
So for those of you having problems, just direct the silly ignoramus to this site and this thread and they may get more education and training then they will ever get from their employers; and hopefully it will result in you getting your phone updated.
I have noticed that Orange especially like to aggressively bastardize their phones and it maybe for this reason that some of the "know nothings" at certain branches of CPW think that Orange phones cannot be flashed. Well they CAN. The Orange Firmware DOES NOT alter the hardware in anyway, so updating their phones is as easy as updating phones from any other network.
I hope that helps.
By the way, I am on T-Mobile UK and I too found their Firmware irritating; I didn't have the phone for a few hours before I went and got it updated.
Best wishes all (except "chain store dikk head staff/salesperson"

)
