my whole point with the "phone meets camera" point was that it means nothing to the man on the street. WE know what it means. we knew about the camera before anyone even saw the advert. joe public wpuld need telling why they should buy that phone because of the camera.
i realise you cant pack an advert (especially a magazine advert) full of info, but se ads are TOO minimalist.

@Nature
The average man in the street is not interested in technical specifications; he simply wants a good looking product, which has some nice features. We are mobile geeks, we look into these products in far more detail.

I agree with scot, an advert must go to the point in one sentence. I can't be bothered to read lot's of sentences just for a product, don't you ???
If the phone looks interesting then you look after the specifications but the most important is the look and the simplicty on how it's presented hence the "phone meets camera", I think that's just marvelous, it just described the phone in 3 words ! Beat that !

the K700 has got poor advertising, both ads are just not "cool" like the ad of the T610.
the K700 isn't really selling as much as SE hoped, on the other hand the SE K700 wasn't originally made to be the T610/T630 succesor. it was made appart from it. the K700 is between midlevel and high level phones.
in my eyes i would say that its a mid level, but when you look at most phones on the market you'll easely say that its a high level.
Sony can make good ads from time to time, but it gues those Sony people haven't got any intrests in helping SE.
also SE's ads in magazines isn't what it use to be.
T610 ones were good, as was the T68/hbh-20 (2 devices in one good ad).
imo SE should get some new advertising people.
but if you look at the other brands, only nokia is doing a good job. the moto ads are old style (far from cool), samsung ads are good, but not great.

The whole point of an advert is to draw attention to a product, not to describe it in intimate detail. Instead of t.v. advert, you would have a "making of" feature! Instead of a page in FHM or whatever, you would have a booklet!

adverts tend to be aimed at certain demagraphics ie young with cash etc. if you dont get an advert maybe you werent meant to.
i dont really thing the latest se adverts are great but i better they werent aimed at people like me but attracting new style wise people

@slattery69
You raise an important point; if some people aren't seeing enough SE advertising perhaps they are not reading or watching the media that SE targets for certain products.

Adv is one thing, the best of it is the verbal way, if its generally and usually mentioned what a great brand it is and what a great fones they offer.

i agree that word of mouth is important, but the mobile buying public tend to be sheep. ive lost count of the amount of people ive told about my p8 and what it can do and the only response ive got is "but its not a nokia".
thats where a good advertising campaign comes in.......
