Meg, tests have shown the Motorola v400 to have the best signal reception. And its display is better than any of the non symbian phones.

If you want to rtay with se you should try k700. Ive heard it should be noticeably better than first generations of SEs. I experienced way better reception in old external antenna Ericssons than newer internal antenna SEs such as t68i. The real wonder outperforming all other phones was t39 with power antenna! Probably still the best there is

@floke...i'll second that,re;t39 signal.the t68i seems low on relative signal strength,and the p900 is only slightly better.the k/s700 though seem quite good in this respect.imo though,as floke said,"nothing comes near the t39 on this"

T68i was poorish reception. T610 was worse. I heard t616 was an improvement. This is all 1900mhz weakness. K700i gets about double the signal as t68i. Much better antenna.

The K700i has great RF performance. I'm able to get a signal (2 bars) in areas that my previous phones didn't. Oh and yes, it performs better than my pals Nokia (The signal on his phone fluctuates from none to one bar)
I also use the phone extensively while commuting via train and I can safely say that the line handling capabilities are far superior to any other SE phone.
Why not try the K700i out?
FYI, my old T230 had much better RF performance than my chum's T610...

I think anand is right i never had problems with reception in my area perhaps every time i look my cell the network indicator is full.....i think you should try K700i

I'm new in the SE world, and I was wondering if the "old" phones with external antenas didn't perform better than the new ones. Hidden antenas surely look nicer (although the z600 external one is beautifully designed) but they may be a drawback if they are a handicap for good reception.

Just tested r520, gh388, t68m and r320 and even with 2 or 3 bars good sound quality. Actually as i see, the batt indicator shows just the quality of reception but the qtalitiy of sound is what counts. And it influences the batt performance aswell, less bars = more batt power is needed. Thatswhy are officially standby results "fake", in a lab are perfect conditions presented instead of "live" and general ones.

i noticed even when the k700i is registering no bars.. the second you make a call it handles the signal better and gets 2 bars from nothing. Its odd, but cool. Definetly though, the more and more i use the k700i, the more I like it.
FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO TURN THE DAMN RANDOM MODE OFF!!!
