What does it matter if it is the most technically advanced phone on the market? It should still work as advertised without much user intervention.

I don't care whether Microsoft or SE are to blame. They should get together and make sure all the stuff that generates huge profits for them will actually sit together happily.

Back in the real world I say 'thanks' to forum members for helping me solve problems that would have been completely out of my reach.

you don't live in the real world do you? It could be any number of things causing problems. Do you expect Ms or SE to check every possible combination? How do you know it's not user error? SE have a right to expect some technical knowledge considering the phone being bought.

No need to get shirty. The whole point of a forum is to air differing views of the same subject.

If these products were so well thought out then this forum would have far fewer posts from people having very similar problems.

I like my 'toys' but I wish they were easier to set-up.

I think that most problems we discuss here are generated in theis area where the phone's os is not compatible with the pc's os, and i think if SE decided to make the phone work perfectly with all os's, then i am sure they will end up closing because they will not be able to produce anything in time, when there is much competition in the market.
I think the p910 is a great phone and that it is your job to add to it or adjust it to suite your needs and that is what the p series is all about , otherwise get a z600 or similar which will work very nice with all os's and will need no intervention from you.
and yes it is an expensive phone, but that is because you have a small pc in your hand and not a normal dial phone with some gimmicks.
