i went and checked. he said the r2l is still the latest. he said he got no official mail from sonyericsson. when will he get such a mail?? and it seems it takes about 6 hours to downlod the software. how big is the download??? he is using dial up.

The software available at this non authorized update server is not official software and therefore they don't have the camera software in it. The version they have is probably a cut down version that Sony Ericsson used during their testing on phones that didn't need the camera software to be updated. The version they got hold of simply lacks the software for the camera.
I have no idea why people keep playing around with software from these servers... even less, how can some one be so desperate for an update that he installs a software that was known to disable the camera? This "hunt" for new software has gone to far!

I totally agree with you and also think that people should use only authorized Service Centers when they can or have warranty, but in some cases it is usefull to have other options (once again my suggestion is SE Service Center 1st)... But the files you put in your phone are official EMMA2 files and not some ones used for testing... they are the same files that will be used in SE Service Center.
For anyone that have problems with Camera Software version I must tell you that this is Total Server problem, because I tested other 2 unofficial solutions and they worked no problem with Camera Software version 3.9... Hope this helps to anyone

But...soon i realized the camera stoped working!!!! I made a master reset and it didnīt work. I returned to the SC for a reflash, but it still didnīt work...i wonder what was the problem??? Maybe it was that camera software you people are talking about...
Well, now iīm stuck with a blokia 6210 for a week and waiting for getting my k700 back from a upper level Service Center were it was sent to...
I hope itīll bring r2ae when it comes back

The files at the Multi Server who currently provides the R2AE033 firmware is not official and not complete since they cannot make the camera work for phones with camera version 3.9. My source says that the official release don't have this problem. I couldn't get any information however if the official software updates the camera version to 3.10 or if the firmare works with 3.9. The important matter is that the new firmware will work for everybody if updated officially!
If the version they have is complete, my source said that Sony Ericssons developers might have found a workaround to [try] stop unofficial update servers from being able to update phones [at least for a short period until these servers find a new way...]

Yes I can confirm that files on Total Server are having this problem so don't use Total Server to update your phone to R2AE...
But I can also confirm that I have tried 2 other solutions and that they don't have that problem... updating to R2AE will also update your camera software to 3.10.
BUT I WOULD REALLY SUGGEST that you people wait for a few days that software comes out to SE Service Centers or if you still want to use unofficial solutions (at your own risk of loosing warranty) contact with solution providers first.

No, you just suffered from a corrupted firmware when they updated/downgraded the phone. This happens often with Sony Ericsson Online Update Service, but sometimes it happens at service centers too (not often though). Read this link and the link I'm refering to there:

By the way, there is a problem with the Sony Ericsson Online Update Service. It often corrupts the firmware while performing the update. I doubt the new firmware will be on the Online Update Service very soon since Sony Ericsson still haven't been able to fix that problem (and they don't want another flood of phones returned due to corrupted firmware, since they had that when R2L001 was released at the Online Update Service).
Those who want the new R2AE033 will probably have to either wait, or update your phone at a local service center.
