Globe and Smart cannot afford to go 24/7. their networks are already too big which means they have certain fixed costs that they have to meet. number 2, if they go 24/7 their networks will be so congested. they have a combined subscriber base of around 30M, which you can't really compare with Sun's a little over 1M base. I've heard from friends that Sun is already experiencing congestion. If their subscriber base gets any bigger, they won't be able to continue with theire 24/7 service.

i doubt whether globe or smart will take on sun's 24/7 offer.

they don't have to. they got enough subscriber base to sustain them, and the bulk of their profit comes mainly from VAS, not calls and text (which sun can't take advatange of since they don't have the subscriber base. yet).

the 24/7 service is offered below cost. sun may not sustain this for long time if they cannot achieve their immediate goal.
kaya lang nila ni-launch yan is because they're paying for fixed cost and network has excess capacity.

i doubt if globe or smart is losing subscribers a lot of subs on suns 24/7. most people i know only use sun as a second phone line. (we all know about spotty network coverage, and we don't want to get caught in a bind when we need to make a call and we can't make any.)

however, i do know that I've managed to reduce my globe bills by availing of the 24/7 service.

oh, and i'm thinking of letting go of my previous backup line, a globe prepaid number i've had for 4-5 years.

mas nakakatipid ako sa sun eh.

but i'll hold on to my main line. sun is still a secondary line for me.

Well take good care of your secondary line coz in the year end that'll be your primary phone coz we're working doubletime to serve you better... by year end our coverage will be at par with the two.

well wer are u affiliated?im using Globe as my primary line, and Smart and Sun Cell as my 2nd and 3rd line respectively.I just hope (whatever co. ur afiliation is) that its true that ur working overtime to serve ur subscribers well.

i dnt want a Globe 24/7.like wat was mentioned before, it will clogged the network.this is my primary network and i dnt want to suffer what i experienced with SUN.but honestly SUN is a fair choice for ur second/backup number, esp sa mga not so important calls and text as long as ur not bringing it with u (as ur only SIM) in far way towns..problema sa signal. pero sobrang tipid talaga.

mas mabuti pa sa globe kung i flat rate na lang nila GPRS.

I think 'Raytheon' is with Sun Cellular. He was replying to this post of GOwin.

Hmmm .. Network coverage is not really an issue for me. Network access is.

Hirap tumawag! I have friends who are postpaid Sun subs, and they tell me that it's not difficult for them to make calls. Do postpaid subscribers have preferred access?

My prepaid Sun SIM replaces my Globe prepaid. Main line is a Globe postpaid line.
