can you guys please knock it off or at least take this very petty posting to some place else??

back to the issue at hand --> V800 bugs

Vodafone here claims no new fw has been released yet although one is about to be released.
Considering my phone came with R1D, wtf is R1E and what is the difference with this apparently 2nd new fw released in the UK that is R1F?
And more importantly which 'bugs' do they actually fix?

@Vlamm

Quite right, in the interests if forum peace I will apologise for my humorous quip, and I have edited that post accordingly.

@gadgetfreak

I apologise for my humorous quip.

@all

Now we return you to your original topic.

@Vlamm

I also have R1D. Could there be regional variations of firmware?

OK peace has been restored..and my unquestionable integrity intact

I have just got off the phone to one of my local SE service centres and if I ring back in about half an hour, they will tell me if this rumoured R1F is available on their systems.

I'll let you know.

Jolly good, it will be interesting to find out what they say. R1F does sound unlikely though, if the V800 being sold only have R1D. One would imagine that the V800 currently on sale would have at least R1E if R1F was available.

P.S. If it doesn't exist then perhaps an apology is in order!

it is actually far more likely that all phones were flashed and boxed and sealed and shipped with R1D, since either new firmware (if any) is very recent and my guess would be that most shops sell from a stock slightly older than that.

@Vlamm

Aren't talking about two new firmware versions over R1D though? The V800 hasn't been on sale all that long, one would presume that if there were two new firmware versions available i.e. R1E and R1F then it would be likely that some V800s on sale would come with at least R1E.

as I said, since either new firmwares have been released VERY recently, it is in fact quite unlikely that any phones out of a new batch (the only ones that could in fact have a firmware that is only days old) would have been available in store already.

Packing and shipping and such..... and probably stores selling out the oldest batches first (FIFO principle) so I would be very surprised if anybody had been able to obtain a unit with R1E/F on it from a store yet.
