Many people, like myself, don't use the JotPro because we regard it as a waste of space.
Waste of space? How do you mean, the virtual keyboard take space on the screen not jotpro. Or am i missunderstandig? (my english isn't so good)

And then there is all that nonsense with having to write lower case letters at the top half of the screen, capitals in the centre and numerals in the lower half of the screen. Or some such nonsense like that.
As i understand you haven't gived jotpro a chance, or?

Me? I am a Virtual Keypad user using eZiTap FEP software as well as using the QWERTY keyboard.
I supose that eZiTap is something like T9? I may test it with the virtual keyboard and se what i think of it...

JotPro certainly maximises the pxxx's large display better than the virtual keyboard. But as for personal preferences, people will always choose things they are more comfortable with.

Geez, aren't we all a bunch of nit pickers! I don't even use the flip at all. What keyboard EVER auto-capitalises after a period?

I can guarantee that you will NOT be able to produce a decent sized typed document using JotPro as fast as someone using the Virtual Keyboard with eZiTap FEP installed.
And yes, eZiTap FEP is a kind of T9 predictive text for the Virtual Keyboard only much better.
Give eZiTap FEP a try, I think you will like it. In fact I would say that it is the only way to use the Virtual Keybaord because without it the Virtual Keyboard is horrible (although I still think it is better than the JotPro).
And I apologise, for my use of an English slang/colloquialism. When I said that the JotPro was a waste of space, I didn't mean it literally (I wasn't talking about its size). It's just an English (UK English) way of saying something is rubbish (or because it is rubbish it is "a waste of space" because it simply exists and should be got rid of). Does that make sense? I hope I have explained it well.
Oh, and yes I have given JotPro a try. I think it is absolutely rubbish. But I have met two guys who are brilliant at using it. The first guy I saw use it simply amazed me at how fast and accurate he was. But as you said in an earlier post - it something you have to learn. True hand writing recognition requires you to learn nothing - you simply write.
And someone said that at least JotPro gives you a more viewable area of the screen than the Virtual Keyboard. That is true - but then that is why I often use the QWERTY Keyboard Flip, as I can see the entire text area whilst typing.

Ok, maybe it work well with that Ezitap, without it i think it's rubish and i will use jotpro instead wich i think work very well.
I think we are ready with this discussion, you think jotpro is rubish, i think the virtual keyboard is rubbish (without Ezitap).
If you wanna test something else than Jotpro for handwrite recog. you can look at Decuma OnSpot, with that you write more like on paper.
I will look at Ezitap and see what i think about it...

I too use the virtual keyboard with EziTap. It predicts the word you're writing so that you can just select it after a few letters. It also remembers the next word you use, so if you repeat the same sequences of words, you can just select each subsequent one without typing. Also it auto-capitalises! (as long as you select the word and don't type the whole word manually).
One more alternative, though, is pop-on-top keyboard.
http://www.webhosting.demon.co.uk/symbitz/popontop.htm
This has great potential - for a start, a nice, big landscape keyboard that you can use with your fingers or while walking (which virtual keyboard is too small for). There are lots of different layouts and you can even design your own. Unfortunately, there are a few niggles. For a start it can only be set to primary input (replacing JotPro, rather than virtual keyboard - silly!). There are also a couple of other things I would want changing, and I have notified the makers, but there have been no updates yet.
Worth a try if you're looking for alternatives though.
