I don't know about you lot but I saw my first S700 in use the other day sinse it's been out. That seems really strange for me saying that I work in the heart of London. K700 are great phones and in my mind I believe that maybe people aren't buying the S700 as much as the K700 as it's pratically the same phone with little extras.
Of course I'm just speculating here.
Common maybe but there is a reason for that.

It is too easy to put newer phones with more features "above" so called older phones with less features.

The S700 is a lot more expensive and it is significantly bigger. Also the swivel design is something you have to like.

The real issue is getting what you want for a price you are prepared to pay.

Also I do not really get the point of trying to get a community to "declassify" a phone. Me I'm glad for every t610 I see in use and even so for the K700 or *any* other Ericsson or SE phone for that matter. Don't you?

I still really rate the K700i, can't knock it for what features it has in the sector it's aimed at, not to mention the value for money. I have 3 friends who use this phone, I myself do, my wife, my brother and his wife. It is common but thats down to it being a great phone surely?!

I did consider the S700 but it's much bigger and heavier than the K700 and the camera quality isn't that much better, so it seemed pointless so I went for the K700 and an Canon Ixus 500.

And a great choice too, John!
I had a go at the S700 when it was launched, but it didnīt tickle my fancy.. nice phone, no doubt, but main feature being camera (which i couldnīt care less for if i tried) i chose the Moto V3, which i admit is also a niched phone, but the choice of materials and build(quality) made me go for it.
Besides, itīs really people like the thread starter who is to blame that the manufacturers churn out new models at an insane rate, resulting in bug riddled phones, whoīs prime goal is to be released in time, secondarily to actually work as expected

I think K700 is suitable for most of us - it's size and weight, it's functionality...
Not a best phone - but must be in top class

And in some parts of the world (like here in Viet Nam, where Nokia and Samsung are dominants) a K700 is still not so common.

I'n my office with ~200 people, I'm the only one who has K700. There are so many Nokia 6230 or 7610 around.

I HATE Nokia and Samsung just because of THIS reason - THEY ARE SO POPULAR

There are a lot of K700's around in the company I work for, which initially put me off the phone but after having had a few shots of it, I could see why so many people had it - it's an excellent phone.

K700nut...you are really nuts. What's wrong with you?! The S700 in my opinion just is not worth it to change from the K700i. Not much difference really. I am finally getting my K700i at the end of the month.

Also you must realize that NOT everyone got the phone AS IT CAME OUT. Like me, am just getting it...so take it as it is...people will be "ranting" for months to come even years! Take te T610 for instance, still a hot favourite.

S700i is not worth an upgrade from k700i. That is correct. Not even the s710. This message was posted from a K500

i chose the k700i over the s700 coz i hate bulky phones. and i already have a canon ixusi that can take pictures a thousand times better than both of those phones.

i don't care if my phone's "common" as long as i enjoy using it.
