Well, I was surprised too, but thats exactly what I was told from the

service centre.
Hope they aren't fooling around & trying to get free publicity
I wanna have that phone NOW!!
But seriously, I wish it is cheap.

also, I was cruising the Ipaq website and saw that they have a triband GSM jacket for Ipaq. Does Ipaq have

profile to support headset
?...the compatibility chart provided by Compaq/HP sure didn't mention headsets. That would be a sweet set up...Ipaq 3970, GSM/GPRS jacket and HBH-20.

there's a GSM/GPRS jacket that cost as much as a brand new t68i.
i don't think someone on ESATO has it. no reviews for it yet.

Shawn > About the Ipaq H3870,..it doesnt have bluetooth headset profile,...although I'll be getting a headset-profile for mine, hopefully soon,..hehe.
The LOOX have headset profile as standard feature.
I've tried the Pocket pc 2002 based JOEY XDA as well,..it also has the Microsoft/pocket pc phone software 2002,...that was really neat !
I guess its a matter of taste. Symbian is very fast on e.g. 7650,..it works very well. Its built for "phone-use".
7650 is using Symbian V6.1
P-800 is using the newer platform V7.
Symbian doesnt really look like pocket pc at all.
Pocket PC2002 is quite a lot better than Pocket PC2000.
Yes,..I like pocket pc 2002,..think its user-interface is very good, and very easy.
Palm and pocket pc have the advantage of a lot of programs being developed....both freeware, shareware and so on.
Symbian's SDK (developers-kit) is very expensive ! Thats a thumbs down
When trying the e.g. 7650,..I quite liked Symbian,..it felt right, logically and fast on a phone.
I still like the interface of pocket pc better, not saying that Symbian is bad at all,..again,..its a matter of taste
About getting a P-800 or 7650 is another thing really. Its not so much a question of the OS,..more like "what do I want, Size, features, All-in one" and so on.
Sometimes I wouldnt mind having a bigger phone (all in one),..at other times I'm happy with a small-size phone alone
But if Compaq/HP did an iPaq pda with phone-part,..hmmm
Regards

Compaq does have a GSM, tri-band, GPRS, w/ auxilary battery for their iPaqs!

I'm sure adding a BT headset profile wouldn't be a problem... I usually suggest this solution for those people who find the features on the 7650 and P800 limited.
Compaq claims the GSM expansion pack boosts battery life on the iPaq, giving you 5 days standby time and 2-3 hours talk time.
You can dial right from your contact list, email, etc...
Me? I'd rather have the P800, HBH-30, and a laptop.

No,..its not necessarily a problem implementing a profile,..just a question of getting it all "right"
But some do have problems with profiles,..e.g. Nokia, on the 7650. They told me in Amsterdam that they had encountered some problems on the Symbian OS and bluetooth,..therefore 7650 doesnt have headset/audio profile from the beginning.
The Fujitsu Siemens LOOX already have the headset profile,..and the H3970 could/would have it too I guess.
And I will be getting a headset-profile for my H3870 from another company,..so no, its not impossible,..but can be tricky, hehe.

Jan:
I know it sounds a bit strange that the p800 would be cheaper than the 7650, but this might be the case? because here in the uk the t68i and t100 came out round about the same time, the cost of the
t68i + mca-20 = £200 on contract vrs
T100 = £249 on contract????????
so it might (i hope it is) true that the p800 will be cheaper than the 7650?????????
